It's interesting to me that Peanuts did so many tributes to Benny because as an artist, he was very much his own person who left behind some interesting work. He was also, from a mechanical standpoint, remarkably good. I write this in my recliner after playing/practicing on my clarinet alone in my office at home in the hope being 2% of how good Peanuts was. Just imagine.
Glad to see there so many videos of Peanuts Hucko paying tribute to Benny Goodman. He has the tone and ideas to do justice to the King of Swing. I also notice that tenor saxist Loren Schoenberg and alto saxist Jack Stuckey are representatives of the last Benny Goodman orchestra which played the 1985 PBS Television special. It's good to see the music has continuity on more levels than one.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the same Peanuts hucko who played with Glenn Miller in his first band? (The band before the one that was made popular)
