The first video I've uploaded in a while.
Warszawianka 1831 roku (The Warsawian of 1831) is a Polish patriotic song written by Casimir François Delavigne with music by Karol Kurpiński. The song was written in support of the November Uprising of 1830-1831. Delavigne was fascinated and inspired by the news of the uprising making its way to Paris and wrote the words, which were translated into Polish by the historian, journalist, and poet Karol Sienkiewicz. The poem by Sienkiewicz is the one commonly sung today in Poland, and is the version you'll hear in the video.

This is the first complete version of this song that I've heard of. My warm congratulations, even though it didn't go as smooth as your Polish Volkshymne, the vocabulary being more challenging here.

Thank you! Yes, the vocabulary of this song is more challenging to me. I also tried to sing the original French poem of this, but I ended up twisting my own tongue.

@@DerKlaviermusiker315_ No wonder, the poetic version in French had nothing to do with this melody! Would it be very indiscreet of me to ask about your origins?

@@DerKlaviermusiker315_ Most interesting. It takes a person from so far away to properly take care of our musical heritage, much of which is not performed anymore and some of which can't be found anywhere else. I hope this channel rewards you for your effort!

Wonderful performance, even despite occasional false tones from time to time. It's also first time I hear good old Warszawianka in its entire verbal glory. For those curious, here is translation of the song (made by me): 1. That's a day of blood and glory let it be day of rebirth! At France's shield White Eage looking, went into flight! Agitated by July's Sun, calls ous from above: Wake up Poland, break your chains! Today is your triumph or demise! Refrain: Hej, who Pole, take bayonets! Live freely, Poland, live! By such motto of virtuos motivation our trumpet, scare enemies! By such motto of virtous motivation our trumpet, scare enemies! 2. "Mounts on!" - shouts bloodthirsty [Russian] Cossack, "Punish revolt of Polish troops!" "Without Balkans are their fields Everything will be squashed with single step!" Halt! For Balkans this breast shall stand Your Tsar's loot is futile, out of our enemies won't stay, on such Earth [anything], perhaps apart of corpse! Refrain: Hej, who Pole... 3. Dearest Poland, your children today witness better days. Than those famous, when their struggles marked Kremlin, Tybrus and Nile. [For] Twenty years, our men fate through foreign lands spread today, och Mother, he who falls on your belly shall take rest. Refrain: Hej, who Pole... 4. Wake up Kościuszko, pierce the hearts, which with [fake] mercy want to manipulate. Had known one such murderer, who flooded Prague [Warszaw district on eastern bank on the river Vistula] with blood? Let him pay down such with his own one, let the ground be nourished by evil guest's one. Laurel of our brother's suffering shall then grow more fruitful! Refrain: Hej, who Pole... 5. Fight, you Pole, ferocious struggle proud Tsar has to fall. Show him sacred ring, uncowardly Polish women' gift. Let such symbol of dearest pledge [for] our enemies predict grave. Let with blood spoiled in hardest struggles our marriage with freedom be confirmed! Refrain: Hej, who Pole... 6. Och, Frenchmen, [were] worthless our wounds for you are? From Marengo, Wagram, Jena, Dresden, Leipzig, Waterloo? World betrayed you - we stood still! Death or triumph, we where you! Brothers! We gave you our own blood today you for ous nothing - apart of tears. Refrain: Hej, who Pole... 7. At least you, those who fallen in foreign countries for your own one. Our brothers running away from their graves bless fraternal struggle! Either we win - or we ready, from our bodies dam build. To slow down giant who wishes to bring chains to the world! Refrain: Hej, who Pole... 8. Roar the drums, shout cannons! Forward! Children into dense ranks leads the troops freedom, glory triumph shines in lances' heads. Fly, our Eagle, in first rank Glory, Poland, world serve! Who persists shall be free who dies, already is free! Refrain: Hej, who Pole...

This song has been difficult for me to sing, hence the false tones. But don't worry, I can always make it again :))

@@DerKlaviermusiker315_ Don't worry, I understand the issue. As suggestion, you can listen to this sang version of Warszawianka by Polish Radio Orchestra to get yourself better into melody (besides that, a bit speeder version of it also matches the text much better in terms of immersion): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0CivP9F-1yw.html
