We are at the Singapore Fire Fighting Gallery actually called the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery. The Singapore Fire Fighting Gallery is located within the Singapore Fire Station Building. This Fire Fighting Museum (Civil Defence Heritage Gallery) tells the story of fire fighting in Singapore from Colonial Times to the present with a selection of Fire Fighting Information Displays, Fire Fighting Equipment (including Vintage Fire Engines / Fire Trucks) and a few interactive exhibits to try out. This Singapore Fire Station Museum is well worth a visit for both children, adults and any Fire Fighter enthusiast. What to do on a rainy day in Singapore? The Singapore Civil Defense Heritage Gallery is well worth a visit, also when it is not raining ;-)
The Singapore Government website writes the following about the Singapore Fire Station Museum (Civil Defence Heritage Gallery), "Embark on a tour of the past and learn about the latest fire fighting and rescue technology developed and used by the SCDF. There are customized interactive stations for a close-up experience of what fire fighters and rescuers undergo in an operation.."
Wiki writes about Singapore, "Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is a sovereign city-state and island country located in maritime Southeast Asia. Singapore lies about one degree of latitude (137 kilometers or 85 miles) north of the equator, and is situated off the southern tip of the Malay peninsula, and, by extension, the southernmost extremity of continental Eurasia. What a good find. So quiet there too. We’re going to Singapore at the end of the year with our adult children and my parents so we’ll be sure to call in and take a look at this gallery. And well done Maro for being so well prepared with the face towels :-)

Good morning Danielle, we hope all is well on your end. Yes, we were very happy to stumble upon this place. Had it not been for the rain then we would never have gone in, we enjoyed our time here very much and can recommend a visit there! The towels are a must for Singapore, it is so hot there that you cannot help sweating continuously and that is where the towel comes in (don´t forget to have a face cloth / little towel for each family member). One other comment about Dennis is that they use to dominate the fire engine market, but have been overtaken by Scania, and you will find a lot of Scania fire engines being used by a lot of UK Fire & Rescue services.

HeHe, you were laughing at my (Maxi) expense Ron? :-D Good morning from Copenhagen, we hope you are well. This Fire Station Gallery was a good find and we enjoyed ourselves there. In Singapore it is a must to always have a towel/face cloth along because you need it to constantly wipe the sweat away because of the humid and hot temperature. That looks pretty interesting. I've seen the building, just down from Fort Canning I think. Next time we will have to drop in. Thanks for the suggestion. If you're back in Singapore, why not stay at the Hotel Fort Canning, very much a colonial based hotel, surrounded by parks but right in the city to.

We can highly recommend a visit to this underrated Singapore Attraction. We both enjoyed exploring the museum and trying the interactive exhibits. We will be back to visit again next time we are in Singapore. We actually looked at the Hotel Fort Canning but chose to stay at the Singapore Carlton as we wanted a room and lounge with a view.
