Singapore's INSANE Rail Project with Kuala Lumpur that Shocked THE WORLD!
Modern life is fairly fast-paced, so you need fast-paced transportation to keep up with it. This is where the long-planned Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail comes into play. This 350 km high-speed rail is scheduled to open in 2026 and will connect Singapore to the Malaysian capital in just 90 minutes. However, you would have probably heard that this project has had a troubled history, so let us discuss some recent developments regarding this project.
The Kuala Lumpur Singapore high-speed rail was conceived as part of the country's economic transformation program, which aimed to make Singapore a high-income country. It is anticipated that the project will become Southeast Asia's first high-speed railway and the fastest point-to-point method of public transportation between two of the most dynamic and rapidly expanding economic engines of the region.

Correction - The distance from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore is 98% in Malaysia and is mainly a Malaysian project. The Singapore corridor is only about 10km long

Come on la....bagi chance sikit la to Malaysia. Anyway, I guess this project is a win-win one for both country. It gives freedom to Singaporean to at least feel 'natural' nature not artificial one like they have in their small developed island. In return, it helps to boom the economy of those 98% places in Malaysia what.

world is moving fast & towards green ... this reminds me the traffic flow and Co2 emission which directly effects the global warming.... few hundreds thousands people moving towards in and out to Sgpore mainly for working . this project not only reduce the congestion of traffic, immigration but will benefit Mysia in many biz and working opportunities . Public transports in Sgpore are wonderful and amazing. Rather then spending money on buying cars , rod tax, insurance and fuel, people are more safe and save & dependable on the superb transportation link in Sgpore. We Mysians should be grateful and much benefited from this project. Lets welcoming and supporting this project and makes these 2 wonderful countries ties once again a good relationships in terms of social economic and opportunities in coming future. Thank you !

The compensation is wrong in this video. It is about 300 million ringgit. Not billion.

Wahlau ~ the picture used; PM Lee with PM Mahathir shaking hands for cooperation of HSR is WRONG. Mahathir is the PM that cancelled/stop this project. The project kick off Dec 2016 ~ Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his counterpart Najib Razak.

The inter-modal consideration for the rail services between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, has to take into account the impact to the S.E Asia Regional air-services network.

This project is not required by either country. Such as let tiny island built its tiny portion first Malaysia will not and should not participate in it.
