Life is tough on Singapore’s waterways. Meet the first ever brood of otter pups to be born and raised in UNESCO World Heritage site-the Singapore Botanic Gardens. And six of the most precious and endangered Lesser Whistling Ducklings.
With exclusive access to the otter family, we follow many firsts for the pups - from a swimming lesson to hunting their catch. We also capture the ultimate display of a mother’s love in the duck family as they faced down Mother Nature's fury. Will these younglings make it to adulthood?
Joining the cast of water babies are huge river monsters battling for dominance; strange night-time creatures birthing hundreds of eggs at a time; and the most evolved of tiny creatures that can walk on water.
====
About Wild City: River World: Shot over seven months using state-of-the-art natural history techniques and equipment, this latest instalment of the award-winning Wild City series takes you on a journey down the rivers and lakes of Singapore through the eyes of the young in the wild.

@great5grace
@great5grace 3 года назад
@Luca I would not trade for anything less for Singapore who could offer such a close proximity encounter with the wild. No where in the world you could have a park that has so close encounters with the crocs without a single incident of attacks from the crocs. I like a park that is AUTHENTIC and does not change it just to look nice, but able to blend in with the nature where the animals are not intruded upon.
@great5grace
@great5grace 3 года назад
Also Singapore and Israel are the only two countries in the world that has a net increase in wildlife. More endangered species of animals are migrating to Singapore. London and England does not have a net increase in wildlife in the past decade, Singapore has. I would not trade anything off for Singapore to have a nicer park like that of London. A nature park progress is not measured by the facade of how nice it looked, but by how well the nation planned the whole eco-system to provide water independance and yet able to have wildlife to thrive in our progress and flourish; that itself is a showcase of Singapore to the world.
