Truth be told, relationships are hard to maintain. It is just like anything in life, it requires discipline. Unfortunately, everybody wants the results, few actually put in the work to keep the relationship going. Simple things like respect, putting down your phone when your partner is talking. Considering what will make your partner happy. (Instead of what should your partner do to make you happy) The cycle goes on if everyone goes into a rel;ationship with the mindset of "how can i make my partner happy". All it takes is 1 partner to have the wrong mindset, everything goes downhill. Because we are all humans, sooner or later, the one giving will burn out even if it is giving from love.

which is why divorce rate among arranged marriage is significantly low. because there's no such thing as "you're not the person I fall in love with", their mindset was "we'll work everything out" from the get go

I think its about working together on the relationship, accept the partner changes over the married life. Most important is communication to talk and listen to each other not escape the problems.

i think society needs to reconsider the construct of marriage itself. is it built on love, acceptance , tolerance or sth else? i think its different for different people. and sometimes ppl change over time as they grow older. i dont think its wrong to tolerate, everyone has things they cant accept. but does it warrant a breakup just because the person is expected to accept everything about you?

would like to mention that before jumping right into sex change issues, maybe recap a bit (even personally) on transitioning. its not as easy as 1-2-3 and your body is totally of the other sex, bottom surgery may also not be an end goal for people who are transitioning. if you are able to clarify the scope of the hypothetical scenarios, i think it will greatly help to decrease the stigma around sex change! people can change in all ways, tolerating and accepting is key in relationships, but within your personal boundaries, of course! there is no wrong reason to want to break up with your partner, imo. just never cheat

Faith in each other. Being honest with each other. Be able to communicate everything. Don't get married if you cannot commit in a long term relationship. Choosing divorce often is shortsighted and not willing to compromise, are pretty irresponsible.
