Singer 201. Bobbin case removal. Will Post on Singer 201K/221K sewing machine. On FaceBook very detailed photos of how the book says it's done and the way I do it which I have found quick and does no damage to the machine.
When you insert the little screw driver I give it an extra twist so that the spring releases the bobbin case retaining clip which just flips up and can be easily removed.

Thanks for another thoughtful session. Your methods are very sympathetic to the machine and the engineering principal of using a softer material than the part. I have indeed seen misinformation on RU-vid and particularly on special interest forums that range up to being safety issues particularly some of the automotive "experts".

Thanks for your comments. The whole point of me doing this is to make people aware that there is a large number of very poor RU-vid videos on the 201 and this is my way of trying to redress the balance. Also in the near future there will be more videos which debunks a lot of theories on the 201. So watch this space. Thanks again.
