Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy released his new album "Sonder" last month. It took him three years to make. Jan Crawford sat down with Kennedy at Hartley's Irish Pub in New York City on the album's release day to talk about his new music, meteoric rise and where it all began.

You are possibly right, i have followed him from early days however i worry about his transition from raw folk vocalist to more "pop" style. The new pop backing tracks are sounding very generic unfortunately.

That festival in Glasgow he talks about is when I first heard him. I got a last minute ticket to TRNSMT on the Sunday and when I got in it was him in stage, didn’t know who he was but he was amazing!!! Once I left I listened to his album and now I have him tattooed and Spotify has told me I spent a full 5 and a half days of last year listening to him. Absolute can’t wait until march to see him In concert

So just ask u this question: he's worth well over 5 million. Compared to others, that's not crazy money, but he's a multi millionaire. And, he's booked for Madison sq garden next year, so all in all he's not really failing, is he??
