Dear Elishia, Dimash recorded this new version after the virus took the composers life in July. That is him they are showing. He was also one of Dimash's teachers & he thought of him like a grandfather so it is no wonder the emotion is pouring out of Dimash here. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💓

As always, great reaction. This was a concert performed for the 60th anniversary of "Kazakhconcert". Dimash dedicated his performance to the great composer and Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kenes Duisekeyev. Kenes Duisekeyev was Dimash's teacher/mentor in the master's program of the Kazakh National University of Arts. The song’s history: Approximately 25 years ago, the Kazakh poet Shomishpay Sariev wrote the lyrics as a poem and dedicated it to his daughter, who was getting married. It is about a father’s feelings, his worries about how the life of his daughter with her new husband will be, what will lay ahead for her. He shares the meaning of life with his daughter and argues that the most important meaning of life is love. A life lived without love is empty. The poet asks: "All life lived without love is equivalent to one day lived in love!" It is always sad to leave home and cross the threshold of someone else’s house. That is why it is a bit of a sad moment for the daughter too. So, the tears of the girl are not from grief, but the regret of having to part with the native village, family, and friends. Poet Shomishpay Sariev asked his friend, famous Kazakh composer Kenes Duisekeev, mentioned above, to write music to his poem. The composer was inspired by the memories of his only sister, who did not have time to get married and died at the age of 19. He dreamed what a father would have felt if she would have married. Therefore, the song turned out not only about the poet’s daughter, who is getting married but about the composer’s sister, who did not live to see her wedding. Therefore, the song feels the sorrow, the sadness of failed love. Dimash asked permission to sing this song when he was still in his teens; the composer was reluctant to give his blessing because he believed that someone so young couldn't possibly understand the emotions well enough to do the song justice. However, after discussing it with Dimash and Dimash's teachers, he gave his permission. Dimash’s interpretation and performance honored the song, and the composer was so moved by it that he applauded with the words "Bravo !!!" He would become a teacher, mentor, and friend to Dimash. He is the man in the photos, whose life was honored, and his passing from COVID was mourned at this concert.

Dimash originally sang "Karagym-ai" in Mar-2016 at the 70th B-day concert for “Kenes Duisekeev”. Kenes, (original Composer of song & famous in his country) worried Dimash couldn’t convey emotions needed given his young age.
