You have reiterated what I have been saying for yrs in relation too the egoistic, delusional, self obsessed, selfish so called pop, I can't say ARTISTS because quite frankly they are not artists in anyway shape or form, the music industry is in and has been a very poor state for as long as I can remember, Morissette though is just another level too anything out there, wouldn't it be the most criminal thing if she slipped through the net, she is quite frankly the best of the BEST, she draws you in like no other artist in my opinion past or present, she has everything, she can sing anything no matter what the genre, and the delivery of each and every performance is 1st class, no half hearted or half measure performances from this wonderful human being, it's all or NOTHING, if you watch some of her recent interviews with various reactor's she will tell you that she's always challenging herself, she's just a vocal and entertainment genius 🇬🇧🔥👌💓.

How can you sooo eloquently and effortlessly say what I've been trying to explain myself what I love about Mori? I especially love around the 4:45 mark how you already sort of expected where the song is headed towards even by just listening to it the first time; that for me was a testament at how learned and repectful you are to the structure, technicalities, and artistry of music (and like you said, without the gimmicks!). As a casual fan of music, hearing your commentary makes me learn so much about music as well, and I want to thank you for that! On top of the Mori love as well! And as mentioned, you took the words out of my incapable mouth! Her relaxed aura, her developed registers, her seamless transitions, and how she retains the dignity of a song by not overdoing her singing, especially when she does covers. She respects the pieces by staying true to what it is but also adding her own flair to it. I also agree with you on her sustained notes, and that is what I especially love about this particular performance of hers; it's actually what I love most in her arsenal. New fan and subscriber here, can't wait to listen to other of your reactions with other singers, not necessarily only Mori's, as I know I'll learn new things from them! :)

Excellent commentary and analysis. You are definitely among the top reactors. So many have nothing of substance to say. Couldn't agree more about over singing. Riffs n runs weren't even a vocal technique until Mariah and Christina in the 90's. Mariah sounded fine but I didn't like the other. Now this vocal style is prevalent in pop music, but it's overused and "look what I can do." Mori sprinkles them in very tastefully and sparingly, but can out-sing them all.

Actually, although your comment is slightly true about her no nonsense attitude when it comes to her music, Morissette is not as serious person as you might think she is. She’s very playful, loves to joke around with her fans, and if you happen to watch some of her live streaming shows, she’s very down to earth, friendly as can be, and somewhat girly and funny.
