Yes a Bb5 in mix voice, her signature note, she can hit that note all day, no problem! I’m sure you are realising that she can literally sing any genre & sing it well, wait til you hear her rapping!!! Have you noticed that in this KOMS series, her character is ‘old lady’ but in each performance she changes her attire slightly to match the song, hence the pink leather jacket & leather glove (MJ style) in this performance. I think the most impressive thing about the passionate high notes in this performance is not that she can actually hit the notes, we all know that she can hit those notes, nor is it the fact that when she gets up there she can actually sustain long phrases up there, with power but in my opinion I think her trust/belief in her instrument is such that she can be brave & take this on, knowing that her voice is going to do what she wants it to & you can tell by the way she hits the notes, bang!!, right in the centre of the pitch that there is no doubt in her mind that she’ll fail. It must be so fantastic to know that your voice can do that because you know as well as I do that the slightest doubt in your mind often will lead to you not been able to perform as you wish. It’s not as if she’s singing some ‘easy’ songs, Sohyang just doesn’t do easy, although she makes it look easy, she’s doing some pretty hard stuff, impossible I would say for us ‘normal’ people!!!! I hope that when you have completed the KOMS series you will then react to all her performances in the ‘Begin Again Korea’ series, which was recorded during the pandemic, so the most recent collection of her performances, which were in this more acoustic setting in front of very small audiences ( Sohyang refers to this as ‘busking’, which it obviously is but to a level that’s on a different planet to anything I’ve ever heard before). Here she performs many genre’s’ my favourite of which is her performance of Ella Fitzgerald’s ‘Misty’, which I can’t wait for you to hear and where she sings many more contemporary English songs, both on her own & sometimes as a duet. You have actually reacted to the 1st one of this series to be released which is her stripped back version of ‘I will always love you’ on the dockside to a small crowd of essential workers. For me as a long time admirer of this angel on earth, the thing that stood out for me from this series is that after the preceding few years been blighted by bouts of pneumonia ( the kiss of death for a singer) she has had a period where she has been quite well, for her at least, and oh boy! does it show, not only does she look fantastic, healthy, happy & relaxed, but she sounds better than ever, which I didn’t think was possible, and this acoustic setting, with minimal accompaniment from musical instruments, really leaves her no place to hide & OMG!! she really excels in this environment, but hopefully you will witness all this for yourself if you decide to carry on reacting to Sohyang.

One Can not be fooled by the thought that there's no more room for improvement in her vocals. It seems against the course of nature, but her development is ongoing🙂 At 44yrs old still Very relevant

Yess, this cover is pretty crazy. She does many octave jumps here in mixed voice.. She does an A5 here 6:12 She then does an octave jump here 7:41 from Bb4 to Bb5 then she does again mixed Bb5 but slides to it and peaks at B5 here 11:26 Then at the end another vocal jump Bb4-Bb5 here 12:27

This arrangement of the song Mona Lisa was first done by Guckkasten on the TV show "I Am A Singer" You should listen to Guckkasten version of this song Mona Lisa. Check out his recent KillingVoice video, and you will definitely understand why he is so underrated(because of the genre) Also, Ha Hyun Woo was on the famous TV show "Masked Singer" and done a lot of PHENOMENAL covers.
