His channel is not a shrine for the vocalists & artists you worship. He simply gave an honest review of the performance on a technical basis; the insults are unnecessary and trivial. Moreover, he's not the first Voice Teacher/Vocal coach to make that assertion about Ariana's technique. She's a great vocalist however she still has some obvious technical flaws eg. Jaw Tension, some tongue tension etc. Kelly's technique is more refined and she has developed this over the years; hopefully Ariana will do the same as time progresses.
Ariana definitely doesn’t have tension on this, other vocal coaches reacted and they didn’t say anything about this. And you can hear how good her voice sounds and how smooth she hits those notes, as a light lyric soprano I don’t think she has any tension.
she definitely didn’t have any tension it seems like every time ariana performs with another singer a lot of these vocal coaches go in with a mindset that they’re immediately going to shit on ariana and then uplift the other singer (kelly) in contrast. Let’s not forget which one of the two singers has a three octave range and which one has four.
OK ppl need to chill. He's not talking specifically about in this song. He's saying she tends to sing with more tension just bc her technique isn't quite perfected yet (it's good but ari isn't as effortless as kelly is and that's down to time and technique). It's not saying ari is trash and kelly is great, they're both incredible but kelly rn in her prime is in the category of whitney, Mariah and celine of the 90s. Ari will surely be there too one day so long as she too like kelly strives to improve through her career. Just as if stands currently, Kelly clarkson imo is the best internationally recognised singer on the planet. She has such an incredible understanding of her instrument that she can apply to any genre at various keys, with her distinctive but GLORIOUS tone and the agility is better than ever before. As I said both are incredible but as Kelly has gone so long being the underappreciated queen that she is, let her have her time in the sun, and ari will be there too long after Kelly is and you stans can lap it up then. I just rlly want to enjoy the music the 2 can create atm bc they're changing the game again. Big vocalists are well and truly back in business and long may that stay
Don't let the crazy stans get to you; I loved your reaction and I think your analysis was very apt! It's perfectly reasonable for Ariana to carry some tension. Like you said, she's not in her prime age yet. Kelly is a veteran!
There are veterans that still struggle with tension tho. Its not like Ariana is some amateur, who just needs to age to get better. She works hard on her technique, and I’m sure she’ll continue to. That what will secure her longevity, not just getting older
I wasn't dissing Ariana, I love her. I was jus saying you can't really compare her to Kelly due to the age difference, women don't usually reach their prime until their 30s and 40s so I do think Ariana's voice will be even better when she is the age Kelly is now 🙂

@@joanquintero4670 I'm not saying Ariana is a really tense singer, she does sing in a light mix so she's not really straining. She does have some jaw and tongue tension and her voice doesn't sound as open and supported as Kelly's here, like I said though Kelly's technique improved as she got older so I'm sure Ariana will do the same thing as her voice matures!
If you love Kelly, you should react to her Meaning of Life album, especially Love So Soft, Whole Lotta Woman and the title track, Meaning of Life. However I would recommend finding a live performance vs the recording so you can really see how good she is live. Oh, and she has some FABULOUS covers on her show, called ‘Kellyoke’, she has covered everyone from Aretha to Adele to Sia, to Whitney Houston to Etta James (that’s a great one!) to Amy Winehouse, and male artists too like Vince Gill, Marvin Gaye, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Garth Brooks, nothing is off limits and she kills it every single time! 🥰
Meaning of Life is my favourite album from Kelly so far, I've watched every live performance of every song more than once and I've also saw every Kellyoke more than once haha. I don't miss anything she does but I'll definitely be reacting to her more soon! 😊

i’m saying this as a non ariana *stan*, she definitely doesn’t have any big tension that you make it out to be. she doesn’t strain for sure, it’s just slight tongue tension but she still sings very healthy. everything below G5 for ariana is very well executed tho and far from any tension.

First time viewer here... love both these ladies and their showdown medley duet on "That's My Jam" and their live Christmas duet on "Santa Can't You Hear Me," both which can be found on YT, are not to be missed. Just fabulous! I too prefer Kelly's voice just a bit, and since you appreciate sublime vocal techniques and effortless range control and delivery, have you ever heard or done a reaction video to who, imo and many others, is the GOAT: Barbra Streisand? If you haven't, you're missing something really special. Her catalog of hits and lists of achievements is endless, and she's the only recording artist in history to chart a #1 album in six consecutive decades. She's performed duets with some of the greatest and has three albums alone of duets with some of the greatest ever, but the ones with Celine Dion and Donna Summer are right at the top. My dream is she and Kelly one day duet together. In fact, these two impressive ladies share the same birthday, just 40 years apart, and both got their huge breaks and starts when they were 20. Would love to see/hear a reaction video from you on Barbra. You won't be disappointed.
