Spent hours trying to put my bobin case back and the videos on the topic didn’t help until I found yours. Within moments I was back to sewing a touch cell phone bag with cross body straps. It looks beautiful and I am anticipating my next project. I have vintage sewing machine from Singer and a few antique ones thinking about seing how these work. Your video was great for me. Thank you for posting it.😁
Thank you so much for this easy explanation. I recently had my machine serviced when suddenly the bobbin was playing up and I saw the casing was loose. I think the position finger leaver was not fully placed back. So know thanks to you I am happily sewing again. 👏
I literally never comment on videos but I searched everywhere for an answer to this simple problem. I was so upset because I’m a novice seamstress but truly enjoy it and no answer would have meant taking my machine in to be serviced. Your video solved my issue in less than 5 minutes. Thank you SO MUCH!!
Thank you for making this video and keeping it online! I had been having problems with my bobbin and tried everything like putting in a different thread, needle, bobbin… turns out that that little place holder lip had just moved out of the way!
Million thanks! Your tutorial video is so simple and more than useful at the same time. I've found it just in time to save my sewing machine and keep my nerve:)) Thank you so much indeed!!
Thank you for saving my new sewing machine. I took the bobbin case our (thought there was thread caught). I couldn't get it back in. Watched your vid and waaalaaaaaa, I'm back.
Thank you! I wasn't quite on the edge (same issue you had as you installedit the first time, and thanked that you made that mistake to show us what to do). I have been fighting this for a couple hours now on my machine. Bravo!!!
And, I looked at the bobbin thread and found it to be very messy on the bobbin so I rewound that. I saw your comment below to Ms. Marsden-Hall which was also insightful and all related. Again, thank you.
Thanks! My bobbin case kept getting crossways and I thought that it wasn't installed correctly and I kept trying to figure out how to put it IN the hole underneath--even though it seemed to fit properly when it was just resting on the lip. The trick was using a screwdriver to flip that little wing doohickey over it. I really was getting it in place correctly before, it just wasn't being held there. BTW, I have a Singer model 4562 and my bobbin case works exactly the same as yours.
I agree with everyone else. This is a fantastic video. I sent a new machine to a person unable to afford to buy one and it arrived with bobbin case in crooked. Found your video and we are going to try to fix long distance so I don’t have to send machine back to vendor. Wish us luck!
My wife is no-kidding making some COVID masks for me to take to folks at work today, and she could not have completed them without your video! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much. I broke my case trying to put it back into my machine after my mom took it out. I ordered a new one and i cant wait to get it so i now will know to put it back correctly.
Thanks for the video showing how to get the bobbin case out and back in. Getting it out wasn't hard, but I needed your guidance to get it back in and check to see that it is seated correctly.
Thanks a lot for the video, really helpful. Mine popped out and I didn't know how to fix it, brought my Singer to repair and paid €90, when it happened second time looked in RU-vid and found your video, I'm very pleased with the outcome 😄😘
Excellent and simple. I've been paying $$$$ to have it re-installed every time it slips out. Going home to try this. Certain it will work. Thank you for the overview. . .
Thank you so much, you really helped me a lot. Somehow the bobbin case came lose and I did not know what to do with it. There was no German video to help me. Then I found yours ... YEAH ... so well explained!!!
Yes, thank you! Singer's manual is horrible and no help. Thought I'd broken the bobbin case. Was so frustrated that I considered violence against the machine--more than once! Whew! It's back to sewing like a champ. Did I say, THANK YOU!!!?
Thank you so much. Thats saved me a few quid at the sewing machine repair shop (pretty sure he charged me for an imaginary part last time this happened anyway) X
that was great. for some reason I was CERTAIN the botton holder had to go UNDER the bit of sheetmetal to the right of it. I was ready to unscrew it and all. I found that if I just hold my thumb down on it and wind the driveline handle (on the end) it would click in place and I would literally hear a click and then could slide the little holder bit on the top left over it.
I have just bought this Singer machine, model 9022. The bobbin case was wiggling, so after watching your tutorial I see I’m missing the little arm that swings side to side to hold the bobbin tight in the bobbin case. Do you know if I can get the part.
I’m having trouble trying to find a bobbin case that fits my stylist 413. Where can I find one. I know the back form shape is designed differently than others and I just can’t find the black plastic replacement ones.
Could you please show the same thing for Singer M1005 sewing machine? I removed the bobbin case to clean the accumulated lint , but I can't insert it properly now 😔
thanks , my 6233 has a nasty little spring on the opposite side to the position finger. iv done somethings wrong. it started breaking thread, i took the shuttle off cos it was all bound up underneath. now the thread doesnt want to ride over the bobbin case, and just tears up before the needle. what a bother
I unscrewed also the silver colour plate...it has two long screws that don't seem to screw back and a little one where a little metal hook attaches , but there is no whole to screw it back in...help...
Thank you very much, really well explained. Could you please post more hints and tips, im struggling with the bottom thread getting caught up in bunches? Help please... ;)x
+Joanne marsden-Hall This is a worldwide problem. Most often it is caused by a misthread of the upper spool, make sure your spool thread finds its way into the top tension assembly. On the new machines its hidden, on the old machines its stuck up on the front and very visible. What happens is, the spool thread misses the tension discs in the tension dial, this makes the thread too loose and its being pulled under the fabric by the bottom thread, which is tight. I call it thread nesting, big loops and jams. Don't hesitate to call with any related questions SINGEROnline.com 800-559-6729
Excellent. Short, pithy, too the point. Leaves nothing out. The booklet from Singer fooled me. When I removed it, there was not enough light for me to see that the black Apollo Bobbin Case was was on-top of the black Position Bracket. I spent fifteen minutes trying to get it UNDER the Position Bracket. Sigh! I know better, but my Idiot Brain was in charge. I should never have removed the Apollo Bobbin Case until I had enough light to see how it was positioned before removal.
Any chance you could do one with a Singer 9410? I took the old bobbin case out to clean it, but I cannot for the life of me get it seated back in there properly! It's driving me nuts.
Great video. I was preparing Wednesday nights sermon message and my wife came downstairs to look for a small screw driver as she was putting a zipper on a friends coat. Originally she had problems putting the bobbin case back in. This video fixed that issue, but that was not the problem. She has a singer 5040C and when I took the covers off, I found two halves of the plastic gear that runs down to operates the bobbin mechanism. I have searched for hours to do this. Any ideas? Thanks and God bless.
Ok I put it back but now it keeps wraping the top thread around the bobbin case. I'm having a issue. Can u help? Please. I have a merrit 4525 singer. No sewing tech within 70 miles. Thank u
I have a Singer 9410 and the bobbin casing looks the same as this one, but it isn't fitting the same. There is a little wire....thingy...that showed up out of nowhere when I started taking screws out(dumb) and I'm not sure if that is suppose to help keep more tension for my casing to stay in place....please say you understand what I'm talking about. Help! :(
Hi, I know this is an old thread..but I am having an issue...I have placed the bobbin case in, which I have done previously..but for some reason the cover won't slip over it..*puzzled*
Thanks for the video!..Wow..ok..so why did singer go with the plastic casing in a heavy-duty type machine? I'm going to take another stab at it after watching your video...I'm surprised that they didn't do a better job w the design. I have 6 sewing machines & 4 are singer...I never had so much problem with the casing or bobbin area as I have w this thing.Honestly, I was contemplating the trash can for it & all because of that little plastic bobbin casing.
It took me a few hours of fiddling to get this bobbin case to fit and not come loose. There has to be and easier method. Now I cannot get the top thread to catch hold of the bobbin thread. Yikes
