Silly video idea: Good songs from bad artists VS bad songs from good artists.

Britney's story after becoming famous is sadder than before when she was broke. She pretty much had no money before and after since her dad was in control of all of her assets. She just recently, like in the last year, was able to take back control of her life essentially.

a thing I noticed: majority of the rich people are newer artists. it makes me worried that the music industry is going to continue being this manufactured. it was before, obviously. but it keeps growing!!

Halsey doesn't have that powerhouse voice like Gaga, but her songs always get stuck in my head and she has a way of changing up her voice that gives all her songs a different vibe. Raw talent right there. Good choice.

I guess the problem with only having rich and poor to choose from means middle-class type living gets lumped in with rich more often.

The rich thing does seem to be rather vague. If your mom is a teacher and dad a family therapist… you might be doing okay and be middle class to upper middle class, but I wouldn’t consider that “rich” as most people would think. Haha.

Ah, so that was why Brittney's father refused for so long to step down from being her conservator. In his case, his economically unstable life before her fame must have influenced him to want to bring in as much income as he possibly could and hoard it.

its sad that Miley Cyrus, despite being born rich had her own struggles. Like Britney, they were both exploited starting at the industry at a very young age. Miley was overworked by Disney. She had an interview where she discussed the "change in her voice" and that Disney apparently caused a huge impact to it. Lady Gaga, also, despite being born rich, did not have connections in the industry and she really started from singing at bars. Though she is musically trained due to her wealth, but she did struggled and climb her way up to the top of the industry on her own.

Some of the rich ones aren't "rich rich", at their standards of rich I think a lot of us watching this video at 1080p would be rich.

I remember watching a Reddit video about people who knew celebrities before they were famous and one person claimed they went to the same school as Drake when he was in school and he would pull up to school everyday in his grandma's Benz and thought he was already hot crap🤣

I think Britney had some of creative input or at least a kind of veto and I think her built persona positively affects how her songwriters write her songs. I don't think it's coincidence that such goods songs were written for her

I respect the hell for people like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and Jennifer Lopez. They were incredibly business saavy and knew what they wanted for themselves. They also did not take being pushed around. Lady Gaga’s voice incredible. Her song “Hold my Hand” gives me chills all of the time. The beginning of the video seem like the girl empowerment section.

Halsey was born middle class, and I think a lot of other artists were too, but it’s a better story to say they were either poor or rich. Lady Gaga I believe was also considered middle class. I have a friend who went to the same high school as Halsey, and it was a middle class suburban neighborhood.

Britney does write her own songs tho the audacity to discredit her as a writer she's underrated in terms of writing

Okay, I'm not even going to classify like 90% of those as rich. How the f does "having both" parents equal to being rich? If anything this is more of "artists who had below average upbringing vs artists who had normal one" and you have the exceptions such as Smith and Cyrus who actually had rich and famous parents(Mendes can also be included here). Being able to afford a voice teacher for your kid from an early age does not make you rich wtf.

Olivia Rodrigos mom was actually my teacher for years. Though she wasn’t a conventional school teacher, she was a homeschool teacher (Olivia was homeschooled) and my mom was really good Friends with her. But in fact they were not rich when they move to LA. It was there that they accommodated their success.

Yes she wrote way more of her music that people think, she co directed her music videos and created many concepts, Baby One More Time was all hers at age of 16. She's one of the biggests influences in music history. Her VMA's performances alone will be rememberer and iconic for centuries, that's a fact. It's unbelievable how much people ignore about her.

I honestly agree with chat when they said that Juice WRLD could’ve been bigger than Drake if he was still here. Goodbye and Good Riddance is agreed to be one of the best albums of the 2010s and Death Race For Love shows how much versatility he has in his music. Also the fact that he’s an amazing freestyler (freestyled since high school and freestyled for an hour on Captial Xtra) would’ve helped his career.

more info: Kanye's mother wasn't a "school teacher", she was a professor at a university and also I think a chairman for one. if i recall correctly at one point they lived in China because she was teaching english in a university there too. the one about eminem also missed the fact that he was homeless a lot as a teen-young adult and slept on friends couches, and that they lived on welfare for much of his childhood - he's said before how he would sometimes have to steal food to eat, and he would breakdance for coins to buy food for him and his friends to share. he also worked minimum wage jobs from around the age of 16 and for his daughters first birthday he physically couldnt afford anything and had to pretend presents her mother bought her were from him too (that event still haunts him). i think that matchup was pretty good because while Kanye wasnt RICH, he was definitely upperclass in a sense (i think his mother was very supportive and he had all kinds of tutors for all of his hobbies and passions), meanwhile eminem was about as broke as its possible to be in urban America. he got his clothes from charity bins and lived off food stamps ffs, he even had to break into at least two homes he got evicted from for not being able to pay rent just to have a space to sleep that night.

It’s harder for the poorer singers to get heard and establish themselves as artists without connections and money like what the richer singers have. It’s about the difficulty as well as the actual talent. Two parents working in decent careers is the key here, both of my parents worked when I was growing up but not in decent career paths, my dad had bi polar disorder so needed an easier/lower paying job and we struggled massively. It’s impossible to get heard without money, social media popularity or connections.

i saw shawn live in june. he is unbelievably incredible. i couldn’t comprehend how amazing his voice was without any pitch correction or anything. he was hitting notes higher than i could.

It's interesting how change criteria based on whom you're viewing. Most of those artists don't write their own material. However, Britney has contributed writing to some and she's a musician who plays the piano and has produced some of her own hit singles too.
