When an artist experiments, and changes things up, my respect for them increases a lot. It also ensures that I don't get bored with their music. That is why I appreciate BTS and love Eminem. Kendrick is very experimental as well.

I'd decribe BTS typical style as 'whatever they feel like doing'. That's how you end up with very different songs like 'Black Swan', 'UGH! and 'Louder Than Bombs' on the same album and it's also why I will never get bored of their music.

BTS did have a big change in their music style, they were more of a hiphop based group for about 2 years after debut.

It was released during HYYH era (the "Most Beautiful Moment in Life" series) It's a series of albums/songs that talks about youth, the life of becoming an adult and mental health which is very rare to find in kpop. Their Blow-up song internationally was (on the "WINGS" album) which talks about the dark things about people/ the difference between wanting to sin and resisting against sinning. (sins, temptation, etc) Then they made their huge US debut by the song (On the Love Yourself Trilogy) which focuses on topics such as youth and loving yourself.

The thing with bts is the variety of genres and the diversity in their discography. Ballads, pop, hip hop. Rnb, etc etc. They are always experimenting with genres. I really recommend taking a deep dive into them. They are a combo of everything you like joel: vocals, rap, talent, production quality, dance and most importantly deep and touching lyrics.

As an Army, I think BTS 's sound did go through a lot of changes over the years and I don't think No More Dream sound similar to any of their newer stuff. Their song production got better over the time. The only thing that didn't change is their meaningful and touching lyrics.
