Singers Reaction/Review to "Pentatonix - Love Lockdown by Kanye West (Sing Off)" 

I agree, that was one of the best live performances ever. They set the bar really high with that one, but then they pretty much kept reaching it (especially with performances 7, 10 and 12)!

Scott said this was his favorite of the Sing Off performances

Really glad you acknowledged Kirstin's performance. She really brought everything she had and more to this one. There were times I thought she might burst into flames.

This is one of the performances on the show where you just know people in the other groups were thinking "Well, damn we just lost."

Wait until you watch "The Dog Days Are Over"

This is so strong...so powerful. It is hard to believe that all this sound is coming from just 5 people! We feel it because THEY felt it. If you look at Kirstin's hand at the end, you can she is shaking.

My favorite line from the female judge (sorry I forgot her name) was "you guys are just a really tight ensemble". The reason that it's my favorite line is that it is just so crazy to think that they were that tight when this was only their 5th time performing on stage together.

What I love from this video is that here everyone realise that Pentatonix will win.

At this point they have known each other something like 40 days. It's amazing how they found such a cohesive group in so little time. Long Live Ear intrigue!!!

they cut a studio version of this too.. but its' slower and perfectly harmonized... I like them both but the raw emotion in this live performance is amazing.

You didn’t mention my two favorite moments in this performance-Kevin snarling out “na na na na”s at 4:15, followed by Avi’s descending notes at 4:19. So amazingly cool!

I was waiting for this one... and you guys did not disappoint! This was a killer performance - gave me chills when i first watched it, and I experienced that again watching you react to it! This amazing performance was them only being together 5 weeks which is just mind-blowing! That they got this good in such a short space of time, it just shows how good they truly are. The 10th and 12th performances will knock you out of your seats lol.

Like many Pentaholics, I know these arrangements almost too well. I find myself forgetting the impact they had the first time around. Thank you for taking me back to the beginning again. It's not just vicarious--your reactions renew my own appreciation of what I'm seeing and hearing. Hard to explain...sorry.

I have watched this so many times and I never get tired of it. A M A Z I N G! But... It's not over yet guys and there are some killer performances to come. Also, don't wait too long for their new one, "New Rules..." It really showcases what Matt can do. More so than anything else to date.

I've been SOOOOOOO ready for this one. I can pretty much bet that while this one will be at the top for you guys now, I believe it MIGHT be bumped shortly as (IMHO) there are a few more performances coming up that are ICONIC PTX songs that will likely blow your mind and my bump this one down, or maybe tie. This one is one of my faves and at this point I feel is when nothing was getting between them and the win! Love the reaction, guys!!!

I couldn't wait for you guys to react to this one, and you didn't disappoint! Your expressions were basically all of us the first time we heard this, and I agree this was one of their best performances, even to this day. I mean, the emotional intensity they delivered... when I first saw this back in the day, I don't know I was ever so *viscerally* moved by a musical performance. (Like Shawn said with his "ugly face", it's gut-wrenching, in the best way.) You guys already know ptx and how good they are now, but you still reacted to this with the same "wtf, was that? (soo good!)" that we all had, and it was so fun reliving that with you! btw if you can, please watch all the way to the end of these Singoff video clips (you did on the first two, but lately you've been cutting them off). I know the show's outro is annoyingly long, but there's almost always a few seconds at the very end of a ptx member saying something. (Like on this one you missed Kirstie commenting on their performance and everyone's great reaction.) Some of these end comments can be meaningful or interesting, particularly in the last performances. Just a tip from one pentaholic to another! ;)

Great reaction guys! It's so hard to believe that this is only the 5th performance they ever did together. They were so intent on winning, they gave it everything. I love Ben's comments - he sometimes sounds critical, but as a singer/song-writer and producer, he really knows his stuff. Can't wait for the next one!

Yes! I loved your reactions! You reacted exactly how I thought you would, LOL. I will probably watch it again & I don't usually do that. This was my 1st intro to PTX back when the show was airing (2011, I believe). I became an instant fan & have been ever since. I hope you get to see them in concert. I was a little disappointed that the judges didn't give a little bit more love to Avi for this performance. He was just a Powerhouse throughout this song and he would not be denied! But everybody had things that were so important I think the judges tried to cover everything and just didn't have enough time. But yeah I'm always amazed by Avi in this performance. I usually go from watching Avi then replay it to watch Scott, and on and on so I can watch everybody else especially Mitch's descent on the minor chord. But this was the video that made me take absolutely notice of Avi Kaplan! They also never mentioned all these overtone singing during the entire series I believe? That puzzles me too. Love your reaction and so glad you guys like it as much as we hoped you would!

Hi. Please react to "Problem" or "Where are u now" or "Rather be" by Pentatonix!!

This is the point where the tv show started going downhill. The competition was over, we all knew who won, so the producers had to try different things (artificial drama, setting limits on PTX’s abilities, etc) to supposedly keep some suspense. From here on out, you can see that there’s another “worry” from PTX each week, that they may not be able to keep at the top, and there was a chance they’d fail, and blow it (as if PTX knew the meaning of the word “miss”). It might be next episode, technically, that marks the end of drama-free sing-off, but for sure, they blew some fake drama out of proportion for performance 7. You can see it on the other competitors faces, when PTX is done with another banger in the chamber, as they jump out of their seats for another standing ovation. The rest of this show is PTX melting faces and blowing minds (with a calmer song or two, probably enforced by the producers), and the rest of the competition just singing to sing, and waiting for their exit song (which they killed, each group, cuz they knew when it was coming).

First time poster to this channel, long-time lurker. Sorry. I love watching videos on your channel because I feel I have 2 friends watching along with me. I'm not young any longer (sigh) but still appreciate great music, however, people around my age are old way too fast. They have the "I like the way things used to be" mentality. They didn't like Pentatonix or Superfruit because they liked the old songs. Yikes, how did I get to be Peter Pan - I love most music no matter what. Anyway, thanks for being there and helping me feel I'm with you!
