i also recommend a rewatch of Clara & 12’s seasons as a binge because it works so much better that way at least for me. And season 10 with bill works so well.

4:52 Funny you should mention the MCU since this story is adapted from a 1980 comic strip called Doctor Who and the Star Beast which was published by the UK arm of Marvel Comics. It even had 'Stan Lee Presents' at the beginning of each part.

The Fiveish Doctors (five previous doctor portrayers try to crash 50th anniversary.) The Five Doctors (it's a classic all true Doctor Who fans should see.) An Adventure in Space and Time (biofilm about the first Doctor Who series)

There are 3 David specials, and then Ncuti’s Christmas special follows it! It’s not been announced when his first full season will air next year, but they’re already filming his S2, so it shouldn’t be too long at all :)) And yes, even though I love Capaldi as the Doctor, and Missy’s time in his run, I personally wasn’t a huge fan of Clara/11 (which doesn’t help coming off’ve the deaths of Rory and Amy😅). Still, I think Moffat put more care into her with Capaldi and Bill was a loveable guest of the TARDIS, too :))

Yes! There are three specials, the first aired the Saturday just gone, the second is on Saturday December 2nd and the third is on Saturday December 9th so THREE consecutive Saturdays and then Ncuti's first episode will be on Christmas Day and his first full series (which will be 8 Episodes) will be in early 2024!

Really liked this episode, it was a perfect introduction to the new era and Rachel Talaway continues to kill it as director. Tennant and Tate are top notch as always and it’s like they never left There’s two more specials this week and the week after then there’s the Christmas special Deffo keep going with it and do vids for Series 14 with Ncuti when that comes out

I absolutely adore River Song! I love that you have transcripts of her scenes in the diary. I have one that I'm filling with autographs from Doctor Who actors. Alex Kingston was the first one to sign it, immediately followed by Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan. It was a dream come true, and I'm getting Matt Smith's this weekend, so the Pond family will be complete!

I also stopped just a few episodes into Jodies time. Idk what happened but the show just stopped feeling like Doctor Who. The writing was so bad. Idk if it got better but I can't be bothered to see 😂 As someone who literally grew up watching Doctor Who though, this episode gave me hope that it'll get better again. I absolutely loved it

OMG you are literally me. Every year I always say im gonna rewatch from the beginning but always stop somewhere around clara

Interesting, i watched at least 2 seasons with Jodie, but i haven't watched the last one and maybe also never will. Main problem for me was however also not Jodie but the companions. In the end it went down after Claras dead for me. I was a huge fan of Clara, but i also loved of course Rose, Donna, Martha and Amy. But Bill just wasn't on the same level for me anymore, and then the pack of 3-4 with Jodie, they were so uninteresting that i don't even remember there names. So for me i would have even embraced Donna or Clara as a female doctor, but we need a good Doctor AND a good companion.

The Doctor is back! Jodie wasn't bad Doctor but she was let down by the writing and direction of the stories. This felt more like the Doctor of the past. I haven't had this much fun with the Doctor for so long. I hope this continues to Ncuti Gatwa's seasons. Side note: The Meep looks like something straight out of Harry Potter universe

That's exactly what happened to me, stopped watching when Amy and Rory left and watched a few Clara's. I feel like the spirit of Doctor Who has changed too much

Ten is my favorite doctor too so its so fun to see him and Donna together again. I watched all of thirteen's seasons, and it was okay during its high moments with a few stand out episodes. I am excited to get back to the "feel" of doctor who and better story lines/writing because Jodie is a really good actress, and the last few seasons of writing left me unimpressed with the material they gave her/the doctor (they did get slightly better as time went on).

FWIW, David Tennant *is* in season 2 (and 3) of Jessica Jones - just not very much (I think two eps in season 2, and one is season 3).

In my teen years in Germany in the 70s I watched the original series dubbed in German - but I like New Who best!
