We make a single ended guitar amplifier from a Bush RP20 record player. This is the third one I have done on the channel. In this one we have a new design and take a more detailed look at how these record players are converted in to a small wattage single ended guitar that can be cranked up but are still quiet enough to use in your living room without annoying the neighbours.

Looking forward to seeing the rap up on this amplifier, I know with your playing and your repair work this is going to sound awesome.

A very nice video. That chassis would probably be quite suitable for building a standalone tube reverb unit as well.

There is a great online article from Guitarist magazine about a one valve reverb tank driver and recovery circuit. It's a circuit inspired by a Swart Amplifiers design, the valve is in effect a 12AU7 low voltage gain but high amp (power) to physically shake the springs and the second valve section like a 12AX7 (high volt gain) to amplify the weak output at the far end of the springs. I built it into a Deluxe based mini amp, sounds great and takes minimal space on a small chassis. Had to order tank and valve from Germany and it's a short 8" tank, would fit fine in that nice Bush cabinet.

@@robnic52 5k/4ohm output transformer could quite well be used when 12AU7/ECC82 (triodes parallel) is driving a 8 ohm rever tank. Fenders used 12AT7 as a driver tube but it needs a bit higher load impedance than 12AU7 to give optimal output power. One option could be to use EL84 connected to triode to drive the tank. Or a bit crazy option would be to drive two paralleled 8 ohm tanks using 5k/4ohm OT and EL84 as a pentode or triode.

I'm not exactly sure what the heck a valve is, but, those are some sexy Mullards!
@vintageguitaramp_guitarteacher
Over here we call them valves. In the Eastern block they are called Bulbs. Where as in the States they are called Tubes. I try to refer to them as tubes as well but sometimes I forget.

What were the little 4" speakers you were using? Can't remember if it was this project or another one, they were made in Germany if i remember correctly, they looked really nice. Thank you my friend.
