Single mom here. Also raised her in small homes. She Just graduated college, top of class, great job lined up. Advice, early bedtime, limited screens, whole food, school everyday. Fun on weekends too!
I agree. I raised my only daughter that way. Today she is 23 and moved across country to Toronto to do her Masters. I showed up everyday for her and she reciprocated by putting in the work
I'm not a single parent, but help my single-mom dtr, I always tell her the importance of early bedtime/limited screens is so important as well, this woman is incredible!
You should feel very proud of the lovely space you have created for you and your girls. Too often people make excuses about not having enough space/storage etc to live in filth and clutter.
FYI mom, this is considered co-sleeping. which is a very good thing for young children. So please make sure you didn't have shame or second guest yourself.Very smart and unique! Great job for you mom🎉❤
I agree As a mother of 6 ,cosleeping was wonderful, I nursed all 6 , I would wake up just before they did. My 2 grown daughters do co-sleeping.Your apartment iz so beautiful, done with a mom's loving heart. You are a blessing

I just came across your video today. You did a great job on making each space so special 💕 Very organized & clean 💕 I lived in a three bedroom, one bath house with my parents & there were nine children. I wouldn’t have changed anything!!! My dad worked hard outside the home & my mom worked hard within the home. We had home cooked meals, clean clothes & a clean home 💕 I have so many good memories growing up in that house. Sitting around our big table that my dad made 💕 It’s not how much you have, it’s the love our parents gave to us…unconditional 💕
You did a fantastic job with your bedroom and closet. You're showing your girls you don't have to have a huge place to be comfortable, safe, warm, and happy. And I am with you on going minimal(ish) with clothing. Especially when kids are young and outgrowing everything so darn fast it's hard to keep up. Going to look for more of your content now. =)
I love how you arrange the bedroom for your family. Everything fits so nicely I never would have thought to do what you did. Looking at your video made me realize I need to scale back a lot and declutter because realistically you only use/wear certain items anyway.
Beautiful, this is lovely! There are so many single mothers living with others, in the vehicle, or in uncomfortable situations. Your girls have a loving mother doing what you have to do for your family. Your place is gorgeous! 😍 I love the natural colors! And don't feel rushed to move to something larger. The housing/apartment market is crazy ridiculous right now with high rent and mortgages. P.S. I love how you opt to share the bedroom space and it works. We often have more than we need. Spending money we don't have. Living in or having spaces that we don't utilize. You did a great job. I love your decor style. Very helpful.. Your little bit is so cute. ❤🥰😇👏

I'm still doing this; with my grandsons now. The oldest (14) wanted some privacy, so he's got a single bed and table in the closet. I took the doors off and hung curtains instead. His fave colors are red, black, & white, so he has a tri-colored comforter, I painted the walls white, the edges of the shelf black (where his clothes live), and the curtains are red. The youngest (5) loves construction vehicles and rainbow. His bed is an excavator (shelves for the scoop) where I put his clothes and pull-ups (for overnight), and I got him a rainbow comforter. He's also closest to the window, so I put rainbow window cling on it. My bed is across from his with grey (neutral) on my bed. I hung individual hooks by the door for our daily jackets and bags, put a small shelf for shoes. This way I can use the hall closet for hanging clothes. My folded clothes go up on the shelf of that closet in bins. Our puzzles and games are in the TV cabinet. Books are in shelves. Toys are in bins in the bottom of the hall closet (where we hang clothes). I have no dressers. There's nothing wrong with living like this as long as each person has their own place to retreat to. Lots of time together to love each other. That is the necessity! 🥰
I am a single mom of 3 in my 40's. I have an established career and make decent money but the rentals and housing costs in general are so inflated that I refuse to be house poor. I downsized from a 5 bedroom house to a 2 bed apt. The dining room in the apt is tucked away in the back and since a formal dining room is not needed, I converted that into my bedroom and gave my boys one bedroom and my daughter the other. My apt is newly renovated and so cozy and truly enough space for us. Most importantly I am saving tons of money. I honestly am more comfortable here than in my big house. Do what works for you:) Oh and tips for anyone wanting to try this: I got a tension rod and hung 95" pinch pleated curtains to act as a door/ room divider, I have a small eat in kitchen table inside my kitchen where my kids eat, and I share the walk in closet with my daughter. Get creative and as long as your interior design is on point and your place is clean it will look amazing.
Your room is beautiful. Im a single mom of one and redecorating my daughters room. I have other furniture that I can reuse with paint and a larger bed that I already have. Great job, momma

My mom and I shared a room until I was almost a teen. She gave me a little space of my own and it worked. You’ve done a wonderful job making it work. Lovely, calming and cozy.

Very nice! I love it! Very creative! Also I Kia has a twin bunked that sits on the floor! It is nothing wrong with you and your kids being in the same room! In other countries it can be 10 families to a room.

Hi just came across your video. I think you have created a very warm and calming sleeping environment for your family. It is not overwhelmed with stuff. It feels very relaxing and when you turned on that sleep light/noise machine, I wanted to curl up and sleep. I think your personal style will have a very positive impact on your children. My daughter also had to do the exact same for her and her two children and it’s not how many bedrooms how big the apartment is it’s what you pour into that apartment with your love and creativity that truly makes a home inviting!

I love it!!! It definitely is not about to size of the home but the love that's in it, fr. My mom and I stayed in a one bedroom house when I started highschool. I had friends that had bigger homes than we did but they enjoyed coming over to our house. My mom was just real cool and always had good food. So, I guarantee your girls will love wherever you call home ❤

I remember when my parents divorced, our mom had to downsize to something she could afford. We had a 1 bedroom with 3 of us girls. One side of the very small room had a full size bed that me and my sister shared. My mom would sleep in a twin bed with my little sister on the other side of the room with room for a dresser only between the 2 beds. I also used those hospital pads when I was older and would have my periods because my flow was so heavy. Because of that reason too, I always put a mattress protector on all my beds. It really irks me when I see people that don't use them on their beds. I like your kids comforter themes. The only thing I would have done different is switch the 2 beds. Put the bigger bed in the corner and the smaller one on the side by the closet.
You were so creative with the space, you're organised and clean 😊❤ so many people around the world live like this but are afraid to show or admit it. You're blessed to have a place to sleep.

I totally agree, small doesn't have to mean ugly and disorganized and all in one room is a million times better than no room at all, work with what you got, make it pretty and pleasant to be in. I love what you have done with the place.
Beautiful! I've been in this situation before. Our 'studio' was 1 large room, a full kitchen & a full bath. My children were older than yours, but we loved that place. Lived there for 2 1/2 years. Home is all about love, not material things.
I agree with you 100%. working with what you have and making the best you can with that. It can work out and be beautifully done. you did a wonderful job.
