Did it out of simple paper - thickness and tolerances for that very last fold are so tight, that is why foil paper worked so well :) Thank you Jo!

How many gram is the paper you are using/how thin is it

Jeremy shafer origami brought this model( a variation in terms of folding methods), a long time ago, but this one is also good. The last step was identical to that of jeremy's one. Can you try making platonic solids(having more sides than this octahedron) with one square sheet only.
