Now you know what magnet fishing looks like underwater. If your interested about some more magnets, check out this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2RCZni-cOFw.html
I've always suspected that double sided were ideal for shore lines and single sided from above, but it was nothing more than theory. Thanks for giving us the up close evidence, it was very insightful.
Good demo video, Jeremy. I have the one-sided magnet but have been thinking about adding the double-sided one to my magnet fishing arsenal, those look like good cases also. I like brother. Keep up the great work!
Something I’ve seen elsewhere with single sided magnets. Slide a funnel over the line prior to attaching the line to the magnet. Helps keep the magnet from snagging while it’s dragging along.
I find that it helps to instead of steadily pull the single sided magnet, pull in small quick jerks upward so the magnet hops up and lands with the powerful side facing the ground.
Thank you for this video. The underwater views really help me understand how each type work. I'd love to see you also test the 360 magnets like Magnatar makes!
Great demo. I have a bridge nearby that also has a boat ramp. They recently pulled a 15 year old VW out of the river. 😮 sent divers to look for bodies before pulling it out. But I think it had been stolen many years prior (maybe joy riding) and pushed down boat ramp.
That's why I use double sided magnets, because I throw out, then drag back towards me. If I ever decided to magnet fish a lot of bridges, then yeah I would go get a single sided magnet, to use for only bridges.
@John Doe not necessarily, it is good for starting out, but a double sided magnet is actually split between the two sides a 1200 lb double sided is really only pulling 600 lbs on either side. So it's hard to get a really strong double sided to use for drop down fishing
Oh my! I just bought my 1st magnet and had no idea what to order. I saw the kit and read the comments, but I think I probably should've ordered a much smaller magnet, lol. Ended up ordering the Brute Box 2600, which is double-sided. I have yet to use it, but will be sure to take my son or hubby with me. Thank you for this video.
Awesome demonstration my friend 👍😊. It really helps to see and hear exactly why you wanna use each magnet. I have yet to magnet fish but it’s in my near future 🤗. Only thing is I have a large double sided long bar magnet so comparing it to yours doesn’t work. We shall see. Thanks for sharing very informative. Best wishes
damn, wish i had thought of looking this up before buying the dual sided one. i thought the magnet was faulty bc it was clear the magnetic force was coming from the circumference, which was sealed with glue and a layer of metal. this video is super helpful, thank you!!
Well I got 1 each Single is 250 pound pull and the double is a 750 pound pull 66 feet cord came with both so there is a total 132 ft tethered 1 on one side 1 on the other. But this video is proof I did the best of both. But yes education is always awesome new sub
however from experience, single sided seems to work better because as it is pulled, it moves things in the ground to "dig up" items so to speak. Anytime I've used the double sided, it seems to knock off items when I've felt them attach if I'm dragging it when it comes across trees or rocks. I've had way more luck with single sided when using both in the same area.
Yeah but which magnet is better from a much lower bridge that you're going to sew it way out to the side and pull it back in.... What about that? My mom wants to get me a magnet fishing kit for Christmas and we were looking over them last night and I just don't know what to get. I want the 360 ones but they're all too expensive. I also want a good brand not a way expensive one but I don't want to end up with a cheap one either.
Hi Jeremy. New friend here from Pusa studios. Fantastic channel you have. Ty for sharing your adventures and videos with us ALL. I appreciate the information you share on what we can purchase and use. Ty. Blessings. Happy 2020 for ALL
Double sided magnets can be set up to use as single sided magnets , they have 2 ways to mount the connecting eye , so I would say these are the best all around option for magnet fishing
Just received my double sided magnet last week. After watching my single sided being pulled in and saw the same thing your video showed. This is another good video and should help folks. Take care brother and watch out for critters out there.....
I heave an idea how to fix the issue with the single sided magnet, in short just use something that can float at the surface like plastic balloon or like the gallons for Gass to help the magnet facing downward but you can pooling it back to you and you can fix it in this way easy. 😊
I unfortunately bought a 2000lb single side and noticed it does drag upside down like 85% of the time..l just bought the 3600lb Brute double side..have not used it yet but DAAAYUM IS IT HEAVY! I am considering trying to attach a tennis ball/raquet ball or a big fishing bobber to the eye of the 2k lb single side with a 1/2"-1" rope attaching it..l think this SHOULD do the trick to keep that single side DOWN. I honestly am blown away by the Brute 3600lb magnet..it's VERY stout! I don't think l would buy another single side..the dual side eliminates any benefit a Single might have..which are none from what l see..
Yeah because I bought a double sided magnet with a pullforce of 760. I want to try dropping it off bridges and stuff for the real fun. But it looks like I should be using a single sided magnet with a much higher pullforce
Thanks for confirming what I thought of the two types of magnets. I prefer the double-sided myself. I also think having a giant two thousand pound pull is overkill, what do you think? Maybe a thousand, but my 750 double-sided works just fine, it seems its becoming a keep up with the Jones's, who has he biggest magnet kind of thing.
Bigger sometimes IS NOT BETTER.. I just got the WILDEBEEST 4250 LBS. DOUBLE SIDED HEAVY DUTY MAGNET 5.3 INCHES WIDE.. This sucker is all most 10 friggen POUNDS... After getting out of the AMAZON box.. I said to my self, SELF, how the heck are you going to swing this BEAST out very far. LET ALONE bring it back in ? to be continued. .I am going to keep it.. just hope it doesn't get snagged on something huge and can't reel it in....
Be cool to see the double sided magnet where you can attach it in the middle. I have a brute double sided, can’t figure out if I want to go with the top mount or the center mount. Good video, just wish you would of showed the double sided center mount
Can you explain that the double sided has 2 bolt holes so you can use it for bobbing also so is best of both worlds.. Only downfall is that total force is divided between each side. So 500kg is 250 each side..
Great video! I have the same request. Is it easy to move the eye, or do you need to locktite and wait for 24hrs to dry between changes? Working on my bday/christmas list:)
Just got my single magnet wukong 1150lb pulling power just tested it not what I expected notice magnet facing upwards when being dragged so it's not doing its job didnt say that on the distription got to be a way round it otherwise just wasted my money..pretty gutted !!
Ye I have tried the bottle method chopped bottle placed it over magnet then taped it all round it to seal it look good only problem lauching the heavy magnet when it sinks you can see the bubbles from the bottle filling up with water more weight dragging around just I need to keep the magnet flat instead of sticking up towards the sky stop the eye bolt from dragging down got to get my thinking head on see wat I can come up with an idea to solve the problem..thanks for the comment
why is it even a debate? obviously the one that would have 2 sides ( actually on SIDES ) than one magnet that is permentantly facing down. What the hell is the debate?
