A study released in April 2013 has the final number for the Stern angle (Prior to the break) being between 21 and 28 degrees. Not all that steep an angle, but still outside of the tolerances built into the ship by the designers.

The ship that you were looking for was the Californian 10 miles away from the Titanic. The type box on the Californian was off duty at 11.30 and the Titanic sank at 11.40

11:53 I can imagine the musicians deciding to play this as the ship takes her final plunge to let everyone on board to experience the most epic final moments ever.

I love these simple sandbox gimmicks. I wonder if there's any other/better sinking simulators.

this actually sank pretty accurately, the stern never reaches a high angle above the water, and she does split right in front of the 3rd funnel early on The sinking as portrayed in the 1997 james cameron Titanic movie is highly inaccurate

RMS Olympic was the first ship to be finish by H&W and then RMS Titanic was finish a year later after Titanic was built and lunched it they started on the RMS Britannic. As we all Know Titanic sank after hitting with a iceberg. RMS Britannic isn't well know to most people she was converted to a hospital ship when WW1 started she sank after hitting a mine set by a U-Boat in 1916. RMS Olympic unlike her younger sister ships, the Olympic enjoyed a long and illustrious career, spanning 24 years from 1911 to 1935. This included service as a troopship during World War I and she rammed a U-boat, which gained her the nickname "Old Reliable". Olympic returned to civilian service after the war and served successfully as an ocean liner throughout the 1920s and into the first half of the 1930s, although increased competition, and the slump in trade during the Great Depression after 1930, made her operation increasingly unprofitable.

also...Before the break up during the earlier stages of the sinking,,, It is said it had a cosiderable list to port.... They were worried about the list more than being down by the head... With Captain smith ordering passengers to move to the starboard side to prevent capsizing....

Both Olympic and Brittanic served in the war(ww1)... The Brittanic was a Hospital ship and was sunk by a mine..... The Olympic(or better known as old faithful) was in use until she was scrapped in the 30's(I think)....

It was actually 5 comperments that were punctured. I studied Titanic for five years now :D

There were a fourth one, Lusitania. Titanic sunk and Britannic and Lusitania were both bommed. But Olympic survived but it got destroyed in late ninetees. Sadly :(

Mr Dodge, you said that the back end would have been further out of the water, when scientist's have proved the titanic did not come out of the water NEARLY as far as it did in James Cameron's movie, if i remember right, the angle from the water would have been about 14 degrees before the structure failed.

The one that was scrapped was "the titanic'a sister" as we call it, it is parked in the city of philadelphia, it's just an empty hull now I pass it daily.

your wrong about the compartments, titanic had sixteen, she could stay afloat with any four ruptured, but she breached five. titanic could stay afloat with the furthest most four flooded, furthest aft four flooded or any two anywhere.

Actually the Titanic didn't have any punctures in the hull, it was proven that the rivets were ripped out by the collision, that is what cause water to leak in

The White Star Line pretty much dismantled and scrapped all of its Atlantic Passenger Liners in the depression. Then they mergered with their superior competitor (No doubt they lost a large mass of their shares after the Titanic ordeal) and became a part Cunard. Then they eventually were bought by the super-company Carnival. In case you didn't know, the titanic did actually break in half AND it did bend from the pressure. I don't think you realize how freaking heavy that ship was.

I know it was made almost a year ago, but this was pretty realistic. The ship did tear apart before the second half went up in the air. The only thing unrealistic about this is that when the real ship ripped in half, the back half hit the water and bounced back up into the air.

KB9813 RMS Britannic isn't a ship. It was HMHS Brittanic. HMHS standing for His Majesty's Hospital Ship. The ship was sunk by either a mine or German u boat. Brittanic reached the bottom around 9:30am.

If the Titanic didn't sink on her maiden voyage she probably would of suffered the same fate as the Lusitania, for those that don't know or don't remember Lusitania was the famous ship sunk during the first world war off the coast of Ireland that a few years ago was proven that it was carrying weapons and supplies so the Germans did sink a ship that was aiding the enemy war effort she was owned by the same company as the Titanic.

Ya know whats funny. Both the Titanic and the Britanic sank but the Olympic survived, and The olympic was the only ship in WW1 to kill a german U boat.......by raming it and cutting it open with its props.

the other ship in the white star cruise liner series was the Lusitania, it got blown up or it blew up. we actuly do not know.

Just a correction but in order for this Titanic to have 16 bulkheads it would have to be a 3D game

not 2 compartments or bellow it was much higher than that I know this because I live in Belfast were she was built it was 5 compartments or lower and she would stay afloat

Tatanic would have stayed aflote with her first 4 compartments flooding but not 5 or 6.

The back of the ship most likely did not raise too high off the surface. Just about every simulation of the event has the ship breaking in two around the moment it starts to lift up.

5 Compartments were damaged, period. I studied this vessel for 11 Years and have 100 Books on the subject. 5 out of 16 were punctured. The ship could survive if 4 in the front or back were punctured or 2 in the middle. Further more, it took 2.5 Hours to sink.

I know this video is old but this video is awesome but one pet peeve I have is that 5 compartments flooded not just three the titanic can survive 4 and when he/you say you reaserched this but no research says this other than that great vid

The Brittanic the olimpic and the Lusitania sunk olimpic for me is a ?? But the only one still being used is a boat to bring passengers to the bigger ships

It's not bad for a cartoon version... it's of course uncertain exactly how it broke up... James Cameron and others have mixed forensic evidense with (actuall)Eye witness testimony, and came up with a few theories, and there is a theory out there that I tend to agree with the most based on how metal works.... They say, after an explosion, it broke in two just before the 3'rd funnel, but not right off clean, rather it pulled apart enough to let water flood the mid section(as well as people who were standing in the area at the time), obviously putting a considerble bend in the keel and double bottom... When the mid section became flooded it became heavy causing the ship to buckle in the middle which actually brought the bow back out of he water slightly (sort of), and bending the keel and double bottom back the other way, then(the bow) began rocking from side to side, and filling with water started down (still attached at the keel) pulling the stern up and out of the water.... After being bent one way then the other eventually the bow tears free and heads to the bottom.... The stern falls back down almost level for a bit (still listing), swings around and starts flooding and back end rises up with quite a list to port, then an awful sound of junk is heard falling out,,, stays in this position for a few minutes then plunges down....(witnesses say the lights in the stern were on until it went under) ((During the sinking there were 2 distinct explosions heard the first when the break up started and then another one but I can't remember when they said).... Just my thoughts on it...I'm no expert either, just a theory I saw on youtube...lol...Have a nice day...

Actually, you kinda timed the whole musician thing way off. See, while the musicians stayed on for the whole sinking, they pretty much drowned while the bow was still sinking and was still kinda afloat, not when the ship broke in half and when the stern was pointing up at the sky.

I think that if the Titanic has not suck, but it hit an iceberg with 4 compartments flooded, it would not be historically relevant because there would be some other ship that would eventually go down and they would discover not having enough lifeboats. We would be talking about that ship and not the titanic.

The bending is very realistic actually, that happened to the titanic when it sank.

If the titanic didnt sink it would be scraps of iron or a modern day cruise ship because when they scrap ships they use those pieces to build new ones

the first 6 compartments where flooded. but she could survive with any 4 but the engines and turbines she would flout and if it was a hit dead on. if you watch the 2012 theory maybe you could see what happens to her
