It's not stupid at all, lol. Honestly, rattlesnakes are mostly calm until they feel threatened, and in some cases, you do find an aggressive one, but to answer your question, we have absolutely nothing with us. It's important to stay calm and get to the nearest hospital. Rattlesnakes don't normally kill people unless the person is highly allergic to the venom. I know it doesn't sound smart, but they are very pretty to see in their natural habitat and exciting to look for.
We wear a boot instead of gators. The boots I wear are Rocky brand.very comfortable and lightweight for long walks. The set of gators we have are knight and hale snake gators that cost 40.00 from sportmans guide. I'm sure you can find what you need on Amazon. Thanks for watching Dan!
Hello from Fayette county. Great video! Keep up the great content. Absolutely love seeing some boys I’ve met and conversed with turning in snakes. I hope to run into you guys again. Maybe share some dinner some time at my camp no suit and tie required. That’s just for signup day.
Hey fellas! Thanks for watching. We would definitely be interested in hanging out with a couple of pro's like yourselves. We will be looking forward to running into you guys at the next hunt.✌️
200th like and also now a subscriber. Question: I’m assuming you don’t have to tag the snake if you are going to enter it in a tournament and then release it again?
Thanks for your subscription, Keith. You are correct. If you are returning the snake back for these hunts you don't need to fill your tag, but you also have the choice to keep it alive as a pet or kill it and keep it as a trophy. In that case, you would need to tag your snake. In Pennsylvania, we are aloud 1, 42 inch or bigger male rattlesnake, and 1 copperhead any sex any size, and the season runs to July 31st. I'm on my way out now to try and get more footage. Thanks, agian!
Absolutely! We actually checked it the day before and located 3 rattle snakes under it and didn't get any footage, so we went back the next day to record and nothing!
Haha. We were running out of things to hunt in Pennsylvania. We are just ways in the woods and figured it would be something exciting to try out. We were not wrong lol.
Nice video guys. Glad you release them and not like the round up in texas eventually they will end up like us in Vermont and New England with no rattlesnake left witch is a shame. Your channel just earned a sub 👍
Greatly appreciated! Pennsylvania has a lot of respectable snake hunters who are only out for the thrill and not the kill, and hopefully, it will stay that way. Thanks again Shane.
And what's wrong with few or no rattlers?? No one's perfect with regard to lookout and they are wonderfully camouflaged and though rarely fatal, they can make a person darn sick. Naturally a bite can be fatal to a child or small dog. I think they make wonderful hat bands!!
