Thanks Vishal for this crystal clear concept flow with wireshrk and packets flow . Thank u so much. I will wait for your videos on SIP for next level INVITE , RING, TRING etc...
Thank you for posting this video. I am trying to develop my own SIP server and I was confused by the MD5 algorithm and nonce. This video really helped clarify the registration process.
Thanks a lot for your efforts to make this video very crystal clear for REGISTER message in SIP. could you please make some more videos which explains the SIP methods practically covering max scenarios as per RFC 3261.
I really liked your crystal clear concept of explanation. It would be very helpful to everyone if you can start SIP tutorial which covers sections of RFC 3261. Its is really hard to find SIP video tutorials on web. Please share the SIP video tutorials link if anyone already came across while browsing ? Thank you again Vishal for superb video.
+Vishal Patel , sir your explanation and demonstration was awesome. can you also help us with a video / demo on what cases asterix sends 401 error while a registered client initiates a call

Hi Vishal,I Found One Mistake In Logs That To Header And From Header ip's Are Same. Will U Plz Clarify My Doubt.Explanation is Excellent.Let Me Know My Doubt Vishal.
hi vishal its great... i had a doubt, while registration the expires header field has some default time to register, how much it is? is it 3600 sec or 3600 min
Gud work Vishal.. keep It up.. But I have some doubts regarding this first is. 1) why you use only python for calculating response means can we do it in C. If we can then please give some hint and 2) Apart from MD5 is there any other Algorithm to calculate response . if so then let us know.. waiting for your valuable reponse. :)
Thank you Nitesh for your encouraging words. You can calculate the response on any language. Fundamental for SIP is same as HTTP protocol. Every protocol has RFC (Request for Comment) document in which they define how this protocol should work. The current RFC is RFC3261. In that they have define to use digest authentication using MD5. HTTP also uses MD5 for checking authentication.
Sorry to interrupt you My friend But one thing you should always remember that a Proxy server will always give 407 Authentication and a Registrar server will give 401 Authentication. In the slide you mentioned Proxy server. PDN
Thank you praveen.Yes, i think, it should be SIP server. SIP server can act as a proxy server also as a register server. Concept wise it is same. If any other difference, please share. It would be helpful to all of us.
Dude you are just awesome!! Thanks alot for sharing!! I have a question, When this Invite, trying, ringing and Ok messages will come into picture when registering the sip PHONE? Is that the same as Request and Response or after authorization sip phone will send invite messages? Please clarify my doubt?
Thank you arun. This video explains only registration part. Invite, Trying & ringing & ok comes into the picture when you make call to other party. When you send invite to other party, server 'll send the proxy-authorization header instead of www-authenticate header.
