people don't realise that getting so many praises in your younger days and still not getting carried away and performing the best till the end without having any arrogance is crazy, Messi is one of a kind
Pep always speaks fondly of United. Everyone knows he wanted to manage at Old Trafford, it's a shame city were more persistent. Manchester United would've been the perfect final piece along with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Maybe he would have been perfect for Utd but he would have been sacked like LVG. Utd fans just do not seem to realize that the whole team needed rebuilding.
TheEpicTechnology he loves football, you have to be ignorant to not respect united, i think pep was a better fit for city and he knew it. At city he controls everything and is building a style to play for years to come while united it is different
@@yesdcotchin Mourinho cannot be blamed for anything at United, if any he was made a scapegoat, he led this bonkers team to second place only behind city, from there to here is a downgrade, he only controlled the squad he was given nothing else, look at us now with ole, that 6-1 defeat was the worst football we've played since I watched football, that wasn't a professional team out there, the scoreline flattered them
years of being a manchester united fan. joy of winning trophies and fergie time comeback, but the thing i'm most proud of, is that i can finally understand what fergie is saying
Another year on and hes won the copa america and smashed it in terms of personal stats in la liga... about to get the balon dor... how anyone can dispute him being the greatest is beyond me
Messi is the best player of this generation and by far too. He is obviously someone very special to the sport. Once players like Ronaldo get a little older and loose their pace their value will greatly decline. But i can see Messi still pulling through balls with all the creativity and as the vision he has now will strengthen with time.
wow good call, i wasnt watching back then but its interesting that messi already had top class vision, now its indeed risen to a whole other level. and to be fair to ronaldo, he has done well to focus on his best skills in his latter years such as his finishing & heading, and bring something great to the team
Your comment proved true, but atleast for me it was always obvious. Players who over-rely on their physique and have an big diva ego never age gracefully.
He scored 73 goals and got 28 assist in one season and hes so magical to watch. I think everyone knows deep down his the best of all time, you cant take it away from him
They weren't more aggressive. They were just more reckless and their timing on tackles was terrible compared to nowadays. And Messi gets rough treatment all the time and still stays on his feet more than most players would with the same treatment.
This is 2011 people talking like this about leo and still he is calm and not taking these comments to his head and keep doing what he does and now he has won the world cup as well.
Would of loved to see George best play in today's football a two footed messi, god knows how you would of stopped him with no tackling and perfect pitches. His balance was exceptional the perfect footballer. Unfortunately wrong time couldn't handle the adulation .
2 footed Messi lol? Messi is an absolute playmaker who score more than a number 9 and also one of the top dribbler of all time. George best was so good but Messi is different from all these football legends some of them are goal scorers, some of them are playmakers and some of them are dribblers but when it comes to Messi we can't understand Messi's dribbles, playmaking, Goal scoring which part is better
best player PL, Riyad Marhez. and some people think that Messi is not able to play there. many great players in Europe didn't play at BPL, they played at Liga or Calcio Zidane, R9, Maradona, Cruijft, Romario, Ronaldinho,...
He is the greatest to ever live and maybe someday someone will be better then him but to compare him to pele zidane maradona doesn't make sense he breaks record like its nothing..he's amazing to watch and go through 5 players most of the time Unlike Ronaldo which I really respect
+Maslah abdi He still need to win a World cup to be the undisputed best player ever. Without it, there will always be a debate as Pele got 3 and Maradona singlehandedly won it by himself.
I would love to see you trying to communicate in a press conference in German, Catalan, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese... you would probably be at the 'ha ha' level as well.
think you make a great point, i dont watch a huge amount of spanish football but i watch every el classico, the outcome of them games is always ronaldo doesnt perform in them yet messi does, well simply in them games with barcelona possesion game messi gets so much of the ball compared to ronaldo, i would like to see some stats to get how much time on the ball they both get.
George Best played in the roughest league in the world, with virtually no rules, playing on a ridiculously bumpy muddy pitch - and still mesmerized everyone. He did things nobody could imagine happening,he did things no-one else had the balls to do.Had he been with England,he's have won 2 world cups for them.Messi is one of the best, but he's not as good as these men with such raw flair, that carried teams single handedly.
@@antonsaraste4726 What if Manchester United paid Messi's treatment instead? Though this would've been unlikely since Messi and his family would need to learn English
Manchester utd and england wont know what to do with messi. A special talent but england and premier league don’t understand special talent thats why great legends of the game didnt come to england and play. Players like le tissier beckham are all would be greatly mould in countries like spain akd italy and brazil but england love the warrior aspect of playing football more than a special talent. The last special talent coming out of england is scholes and george best.
I'm no psychologist but Ferguson's twitching fingers at the start has scared me a bit. The sign of a man who has been in power and knows how to keep it
I dont think Messi could violate The premier league like how Cristiano done for years. Messi only blends into that Barca style which is why he has not won anything with Argentina which validates my point .Regardless i cannot take anything away from his greatness
It doesn't validate your point because there is a far better explanation behind why Argentina hasn't won anything for many years. Don't hold an individual responsible for a team sport, Messi plays brilliantly for Argentina, its Aguero, Higuain, Tevez, Di Maria, Lavezzi and all the rest who under perform. Messi was the only threat Argentina had during the WC. He carried them through most of the tournament, him and Mascherano. Messi has played premier league sides before and has more than proven himself against them. Remember last year when Barca played City in the Champions league? One of Messi's best individual performances in recent times.
I'm sorry but expecting Messi to carry the rest of the team is bullshit and doesn't at all reflect his ability. Why does he need to get something with Argentina particularly? THE REST OF THE DAMN TEAM NEEDS TO PERFORM AS WELL FOR HIM TO WIN ANYTHING. That doesn't stop him from playing brilliantly for Argentina, as we have seen on multiple occasions. It is such a stupid argument when the result of the team isn't determined by Messi alone. If its a team sport, then the single players individual brilliance is not at all determined by the teams result. Johan Cruyff never won anything for his country yet everyone always calls him one of the greatest the sports ever had.
i agree with you, he brings the barca style into international football to the point were the whole team is broken down since he is the glue to keep them together with not only the goals he scores but his contribution to the game, creating chances left right and center, but since the other Argentina cannot follow his almost perfect flow and cannot suit his needs, with Ronaldo he adjusts since he's never been a one club player like Messi who has only played in 1 system and has perfected it to the fullest extent and even throws in his own bit of magic, if Messi wasn't a one club player and had opportunities to travel to other leagues and receive a good amount of time to adjust hed do it, but since he never has we cannot judge him on that aspect
Messi Dont Deserve To Be Hated Because good and honest people dont deserve hate,,,they deserve Respect but if u cant respect dont thing good or bad....And His dribbling is amazing ..
Thanks for the insight, I don't watch Barcelona much, because I'm primarily a fan of the english game. Whenever I watch Busquets he manages to piss me off, usually the diving does it. Next time I get the opportunity to watch Barca I'll keep an eye on him. Also Yaya is incredible, for me hes probably top 3 in the world in his position.
Rafael Nadal is a tennis player, he traveled the world. Pep lived and grew up in Barcelona probably learned English from TV and it's not something to laugh about
+Tiger SJK Guardiola has lived in Spain most of his life. In fact, he now speaks Spanish, German AND English. And he's not a fucking linguist, he's a coach. That's pretty impressive on its own.
Sometimes I imagine what would have been like if Pep stayed in Barcelona for a few more years. He would have got the best out of the team and win more Champ League titles. We only won one more in 2015 but that team with Messi deserved more with better coach like Pep 😢
Sir Alex Ferguson -"best player in the world, Ronaldo. He could play for Milwall, QPR, Doncaster and score a Hattrick in the game, im not sure Messi could do it. I think Messi is a Barcelona player". The best manager of all time knows.
Ryan B Ronaldo started with Nacional da Madeira, at the island of madeira, in 2002 he came to our senior team over here at Sporting Lisbon, the guy wasn't just born in a golden crib and got to learn with ronaldinho and the likes. Still, what does top team even have to do with anything? The EPL is 10 times the physical challenge when compared to La Liga, he adjusted and did brilliant there too. Messi goes to EPL he ends up injured 5 months at a time like Aguero, he just can't impose himself in any type of footbal like someone like Ronaldo or Ibrahimovic can do.
+Tripnotik25 born in a golden crib? He had a growing hormone diffiecency. Also don't you think it's kind of funny how he signed with Barcelona at the age of 13?? And Ronaldo was playing on random clubs. Also Messi may not be big and strong but he won't get pushed off the ball as easy as you say.
+Tripnotik25 also he wouldn't ever leave barca and you say that like a bad thing. Barca found him and helped Pau the bills for his growth hormone. He feels like he owes them everything.
The standard back then was very good. Maybe not as good skill wise but in terms of technicality and especially physicality, it was much more demanding.
i am watching football since 1993, i think i watched enough football game and saw a lot of great players to say what i said about him.Alan shearer was a great striker, now the football is based solely on attack watch barcelona and real madrid most of the time when they scored 4 goals the other team scored at least 2 goals.you've got dani alves, marcelo, sergio ramos , who think they are strikers always going forward. in this kind of football, the preinjury R9 would kill them in counter attack
Messi was still injured during that game and also therefore couldn't play the second. Puyol was also injured I bet if Madrid faced them and had Ronaldo and Ramos missing they also would have lost. Plus people forget they lost 4-0 in that first game.
Messi played first round = lose 4-0, after that he dident dare to play,he dident have balls, was afraid to play and lose agein then people like you who see him as god or messias coldent do Nothing. Lather when Messi com back he still lose to Bayern 2-0 LOL
Messi could play in any generation, Ronaldo couldn't. Ronaldo relies on outrageous long shots, good crosses for headers and obviously tap ins/penalties lol. Messi is just a natural born talent that could dribble through 10 players and slot it in the corner of the net. I like Ronaldo a lot but there is no way he scores the type of long range goals that he does using a ball from the 50's. Messi wouldn't have to change his playing style at all to dominate in the 50's, Ronaldo would and I don't think he'd be able to play at the level that he plays at now. That's why Messi is always compared to legends while Ronaldo is always compared to Messi. I honestly don't care if Ronaldo fanboys disagree with me because true football fans know who's better of the 2. Btw I can't fucking stand Spanish football, but Messi is without a doubt the greatest footballer I've ever seen play with Ronaldo Nazario being a close second.
George Millar George Millar Absolutely atrocious analysis. During that era unathletic players (fed by "sub-par crosses") absolutely dominated the game because they had a nounce of positional awareness and timing. In fact in this era strikers and especially pouchers we're the most prolific than at any other period of the game up until now. Ronaldo would score two a damn game if he played in that era and have unbreakable records. Messi would be the one at a disadvantage if anything with an awkward heavy ball to dribble and hacking fouls/physical play well beyond what he's faced in his career. Also wtf at the long shot reference, Ronaldo scores a Max of 5-10 shots from outside the box a year, and they're usually driven balls from open play. That's about 100% easier to score with an archaic ball than any of Messi's curling efforts. Stop with the pseudo-knowledge/ analysis, you're just making yourself look dumb to people who know about what you claim to. And yes, Messi is the best player of all time, so you can't pull that card like all you uninformed super fans do when they're proved wrong.
Messi is not one of the best in the world,he cant compared with Maradona or Pele, becouze Messi have newer won WC-up and he play all the time in Barca, i have allweis sayd Maradona is the best, becouze he played in much diferend liga and won, and did won WC-up
You have to be in a good team to win WC. Its a matter of luck not skill. Argentina have good players but not the best team. Many great past players didn't even get into a world cup so your logic is just so flawed.
Aguero, di Maria, higuain, Messi, lavezzi, tevez, etc etc is not good players?? Is that what you are trying to say? Argentina have one of the best team in the world. But still Messi can not win. Thats mean he suck big donkey balls
Ewen if Argentina win WC that dosent mean it is becouze of Messi, but it is becouze of great player Argentina have like aguero,di Maria, tevez etc etc.. Maradona dident had so great team like Messi have now,and he still did won WC... Or you do not see the difference because you have Messis balls in front of your eyes
..I totally agree with you for me Ronaldo is one of the best strikers of all time...his speed and skill in front of the goal was and is unmatched..that guy was truly a phenom...!!!!
19 assists, but the majority of them are from regular passes to a player who is stood a meter away(with the odd good cross). Tell him to come back when he can pick out a pass through the eye of a needle leaving 5/6 defenders for dead in the process. You can't even begin to compare Ronaldo to Messi when it comes to playmaking abilities.
Any player would be stopped if they had 3 or 4 players constantly crowding around them. That just goes to show how great he is that teams have to go to such measures to stop him.
Since being appointed as manager of Barcelona in 2008, Pep Guardiola has won 13 trophies: two Champions League crowns, three La Liga trophies, one Copa del Rey, three Supercopas, two Uefa Super Cups and two Fifa Club World Cups. And you say he's not proven shut the fuck up,doesn't matter what team you manage that shits impressive!
Agree with your post their kate, except Le Tissier was incredibly skillfull, the man could do things with a ball that Messi and Iniesta would be proud of
