In an alternate universe, the england side under Allardyce, go all the way to the world cup final in russia with an unimpressive, dogged, predominantly route one but effective style of play with Harry Maguire, the side's second most efficient attacking outlet behind Kane, and with a galvanized Townsend and Walcott crossing into the box. Following this, Allardyce is heralded as the new "special one", knighted and is in line to replace Allegri at Juventus.... 🤔

Sam is possibly one of few maximum who could run outside old firm Scottish Club & do well As in no money for signing top peak pros ,building good hard beat team ,proper character True test is managing teams that struggle & relegation battles I could manage Man City ffs with squad they have & wealth Another manager I like Rafa Benitez makes players improve .

Big Sam never got the respect he deserved. Shame he didn't get his shot with the national team or a bigger club. It was his own fault with the sting, but still it seems someone was out to get him. Wonder who he pissed off.

sam is great at keeping teams but his ability to make teams competitive at top is lacking
@ogbmt
@ogbmt 4 года назад
In the 2000s there was no such thing as a Leicester City. If you didn't have the funds of a Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool or Arsenal then you simply weren't going to be competitive. The closest thing would have been Everton with David Moyes or maybe Tottenham but even with those teams there was a really big gap. Nowadays the revenue for mid table premier league teams is far far better and honestly incomparible with the 2000s, especially the early 2000s.
@DominiAeternum
@DominiAeternum 3 года назад
He's never had anywhere near the money to invest to keep a team at the top. None of the big 6-7 got near him. It was always international managera or ex-stars. Lampard never deserved the head job at Chelsea. Moyes truly failed with resources finally, but was harshly sent out too soon. Every manager needs at least a whole season to be judged, but his man management of big (aging) egos at Man U was so bad he couldn't last.
@ginge82
@ginge82 8 лет назад
Unfair? The guy doesn't have a single league title or trophy to his name. He is absolutely mediocre and its why only mediocre clubs have displayed any interest in him.
@michealangelo12865
@michealangelo12865 8 лет назад
+ginge82 He's good at what he does, which is avoiding relegation and establishing a team in mid-table. I agree with Fergie(words I thought I wouldn't say) he's twice gotten the chance at West Ham and Newcastle and both times the fans have shunned him away when he was trying to build something. It's a shame.
@ginge82
@ginge82 8 лет назад
michealangelo12865 It's not a shame at all. The man is muppet and eventually falls out with staff, players and owners no matter where he goes. This is a well established fact with Allardyce. Fans know the above and also know he is extremely limited in his abilities, hence why none of them take to him.
