Sir Billy Connolly received the BAFTA TV Fellowship award | Virgin Media BAFTA TV Awards 2022 

I saw him perform just days after his father had died in 1989. Billy came out and explained that he didn't want to do his planned show and instead just wanted to talk about his Dad and growing up. It was the funniest two hours I have ever experienced. We were on the floor crying. And it was all just him talking, telling stories and being himself. A truly extraordinary experience. A truly extraordinary man.

I think that he should have received a standing ovation from everyone attending. He's the best British comedian of all time in my opinion.

Legend is a word used to loosely .. not in this case.. a genuine legend..

My introduction to Billy Connolly was when I saw Muppet Treasure Island when I was a kid. After that, I couldn't get enough. And I got older, I started watching and listening to his stand up and omg. I owe every time I use the term "f*ck wit" to this man. He's amazing.

I met Billy when he came walking up to myself and my Uncle on a charity cycle ride many many years ago but,....i see this guy walking up Ditchling Beacon pushing his bike,..holding his cycling shoes not realizing it was him at first, just noticing this mass of hair from behind. After some time,..we had him come up to us swearing like a trooper how f****ing hard it had been trying to ride up that f****ing hill !!!! He stood talking to us for quite some time about bikes and things all the time acknowledging people riding past shouting "Hi Billy". A true Gentleman in every respect and a wonderful human being. Long live Billy Connolly.

Won tickets on Virgin work force request in the 90s to watch him in Harrogate. Best 2 hours i have had and I still cant rememeber any of it. All the best Sir Billy

I first became aware of him through an mate in about 1978....he said you have to see this fella...I think we in Rhyl/North Wales, some working mens club.....I thought I was gonna die laughing....and have followed him since ❤🙏
