@@AniWatX that’s true even acting scared can annoy or frighten many animals. Especially reptiles. My tame tegu tried to bite a friend for being too shaky petting him. Because it makes them feel insecure they sense your fear and they become fearful themselves.
@@trueking1857 I agree, animals glean so much on the little information they have about a new person. They are very sensitive and deserve more respect than these celebs playing scared give them. All animals deserve respect. If only this could be achieved in the world.
Jonathan Ross sees a scorpion in front of him and instantly picks it up... The American chat show hosts bring on a rabbit and they all go crazy with fear! 🤣
@@normal-potato05 You're right. Only who actually listens to guests and let them speak. Also, often bringing Bill Burr, who always says smth that's not always "mainstream thinking" only Conan can do.
listening to him speak about our planet vs space is such a treat. its entirely different to what we think when growing up, but our planet, despite the ups and downs is a beautiful thing
I am from Greece but because thankfully we didn't use voice dubbing on foreign programs but instead we only used subtitles, I was listening to Sir Attenborough's voice on every animal documentary on the TV since I was a little kid. Whenever I heard his voice on a program I always new that it was going to be great! The English have by far the best TV presenters/actors and TV programs in the World.
Same sentiments from America, long before all our nature docs took off and well after.. There has always been the comforting and intelligent voice of nature, Sir David Attenborough
I could listen to Sir David Attenborough for hours on end, he has some interviews on spotify, and i've listened to them several times, but even if i heared them before they are still so nice to listen to.
British talkshow: host picks up a genuinely dangerous creature with calm and carefulness American talkshow: host fake screams and over reacts at a totally harmless creature
I remember the first time I watched one of his docos, private life of plants and he was absailing down a massive tree and thinking he's very spritly for a man of his age! That was over 20 years ago and he seems to have hardly aged at all. Attenborough isn't a national treasure, he's a global treasure and an Icon who's inspired generations of people to appreciate the natural world.
2:20 Jonathan needs to win an award for that he didnt need to pick that up 2:42 the look on jamies face "your a madman" 5:53 what if we found a space caterpillar
Jonathan Ross is a natural and sincere host. The others would do well to try and learn something from him without trying to get laughs from inappropriate and disrespectful behaviour to either the guests or the animals they cared enough bring to us to show us that we're not the only ones on Earth that matter.
Sir David Attenborough has shaped my life more than he can possibly know. From when I was a child till now a grownup, I'm always learning from this man.
I think the Earth vs Space argument can best be simplified into species vs territory. Those who prefer exploring our planet tend to do so because of all the different creatures we've yet to discover, whereas space-lovers do so because of the unique landscapes and vast regions different to our own. This is however subjective, I'm just giving an idea
@Tom I do understand the lure of space and it is super interesting, but I agree with sir david, there is so much wonder on the earth to discover and also so much money spent on space exploration could be used to save our planet and its species
Never been a fan of Jonathan Ross but to see him actually want to engage with the animals brought on is really refreshing compared to American show hosts.
He is great friends with Queen Elisabeth they are very close in age. I hope she sees a lot of him and he will be invited to the festivities this summer. At that age you don’t have many friends left and he is a man with a great disposition and humor. A very nice man all around no pretension or stuffiness.
Snails are, indeed, very strange when mating. They have both male and female organs - located on their "necks" for lack of a better word - and when they mate *BOTH* snails get pregnant.
This man made the BBC credible .... without him it is/will be lost as they have not and I believe cannot replace him. I did think for a short while Australia had someone with the same enthusiasm and adoration for our wildlife but sadly he was taken too early to make any inroads... Steve Irwin.
He is by FAR the bravest talk show host. I think most of them are wimps and even I, wouldn't have done that....even though I knew the scorpion wouldn't try to sting him.
He’s right, their eyes are unique. Their feet are also unique. I believe chameleons are the only four toed creatures with their feet arranged with two on each side, so they can grasp things.
Does anyone know what these two discussed while thinking they were off camera? Only intrigued? Would love to know if someone out there does, Twitter making a big deal of it.
5:58 After watching Blue Planet 2, particularly episode 2 wherwe it deals with the deep ocean, yeah... the deep is as strange and alien as any sci-fi stuff and it's real and amazing.
Another Australian checking-in here: also impressed he picked it up. I picked up a scorpion once , I let it walk into my flat hand. I would have been scared to pinch it like he did in case it got pissed off... But what he did worked really well!
As a reptile keeper THANK YOU for telling people they don't make good pets. Too many people want these animals because they look cool, not realising the equipment and specialised diet needed to keep them healthy.
not good pets for inexperienced* if you know anything about taking care reptiles, chameleons are wonderful pets. it's not a monitor lizard or a caiman lol
This is an impressive talk show host bc I don't believe I've seen one willingly handle anything with a stinger or venom. Seems like usually the animal wranglers or caretakers basically throw the scorpion onto the host and the host is very scared. Maybe they play it up for the camera though.
Nature and stories and facts and interesting event different types and people and character and chapters and creepy animals and more so listen and learn and for information 😁❤
he's right. I get space exploration is an important part in human evolution and knowledge but there is so much on our own planet which we have not discovered or placed foot on. Statistically, our oceans are still unexplored by 80%. So if there's so much left on earth left unexplored why invest a tonne of capital into space exploration when there is already much we do not know about our planet?
