And the fact he didn't try to add his own embellishments only makes me like it more. He stayed true to the formula and still made the performance his own. Fantastic.
dude that was INSANE!!!! You hit those high notes like they were nothing, props to that! And your guitar skills are phenomenal. Best cover of anything by far on youtube! Have you considered doing a studio version to get rid of the background noise? Because it would be awesome to hear it in HQ quality.
Man do I love these old RU-vid covers that remind me on my teen years when I was learning to play the guitar. This one will always have a special place in my heart. Great performance.
well I've seen a lot of covers of this song (one of my favorites) and this one has the best singing and playing imo you're a very talented individual Carl :P
Great cover! Smooth playing and effortlessly hitting the high notes - those thumbs down are just beyond me. Some people obviously have neither groove nor brains nor manners, ergo: no live at all!
Man gotta say I've not known the name of this song and finally was told, I gotta say to then find this, you really can feel it, props to you my brother. Rock on
Gotcha. I've never noticed that. I'm sure it's true but I've always enjoyed singing/playing guitar outside. I had the shipping crate just behind me here so maybe it gave some slapback.
Such a Melodic voice! Absolutely love it! I've been a bit apprehensive about covering this because my vocals are gritty.. But now... You've inspired me!
Carl you say at the beginning, 'Thanks for a great song' well Carl thanks for bringing your spin. I actually really liked it :D no point comparing it to Stevie because you're not stevie wonder your Carl Richardson, and i think Carls really good!!
I'm really digging this song right now, and this cover is fantastic. I am very impressed by the run after the second chorus (the fifth total "You can feel it all over" of the song and the chorus). Most musicians cannot replicate Stevie's run there, but you came pretty darn close. Nice Job!
@danielsson2 Thanks very much for the compliment. :) I don't practice my singing much these days, although I should. That is a comfortable range for me so I wouldn't say I put much 'work' into it. I'm a bass player and I had been singing this song for years, but the guitar part was a challenge! That's where the work came in for this tune. This guitar is a Taylor T5. Not sure what model, but it's the bottom of the bucket T5 model. The cheapest T5.
