Anytime he uses a teleprompter is simply for refrence. I would use one, you're singing 30 songs, you need to use something to keep all the songs from meshing into one big mess.
Musical taste is about how the brain subconciously relates YOU to the music you're listening to, and with an altering hint of the mood you're in while listening to it. I can understand why you don't like this music even if I myself love it - but calling his music "overrated" is a totally other subject and will be the wrong word since the majority of the world likes his music. You're part of a minority in this case, hence: his music is underrated.
