It's a damn shame he isn't more famous. Baby Got Back overshadowed everything else he did, and he's got some amazing stuff out. Always had mad respect for him because he didn't take himself too seriously.
@Zeke631;that's because it's PAINfully true!! I was so DUMB,back in the day,I used to sit in my car(getting"bent"on a 64 ounce of"Crazy Horse"alt liquor AND a 40ounce of Ice 800,listening to the radio whilelooking at my girls front porch,a MILE north of me,with these HIGH-powered $300 dollar military binoculars, trying to"catch"her doing"dirt". Yep,I was stupid as a mofo!!
Me too! When music was music! And not this autotune shit, and gay singing shit like today! 80s & 90s and the early 2000s were the best years for music! Im glad i grew up with this music, and not this shit today!
45 here and I'd rather play classic old school bangers then todays music. In 2 weeks mf will forget who made a hit song this week the songs we grew up with people will always play.
Im a 2008 kid, everyone makes fun of me for listening to classics. The worst part is I live in Southern Africa where they only like amapiano and modern rap. But I still stand strong, this is real music, this is MY music
Kids these days don't understand about what good music is cause everything after 2000 is pure garbage, look up young Ed ,jet, Paris, Seagram, gangsta p, rbl posse, imp, cougnut, Sean T, totally insane, celly cel, Dru down, cold world hustlas, Richie Rich, too short, messy marv,11/5, 2 of the crew, brotha Lynch, spice 1,dubee, j-dubb,3x crazy, mr sandman, pooh man, ant Banks, luni coleone, Andre nickatina, luniz, woodie and them are just some old school 90s rappers from the Bay area/West Coast Cali and they all can spit fire and let me know which ones you like youngsta and when I can remember more rappers I'll let you know to check them out, anyways much love and respect to you from the 510 bay area
And also stay in school and please never follow others going the wrong direction in life with drugs, stealing, and violence because it will get you nowhere trust me when i say this to you. Please stay in school Graduate and then try to go to college and also study as much as you can now because knowledge is power and the more you learn the farther you will go in life. Please take care of your family and yourself and I hope you take this as knowledge because im almost 40 and seen a bunch of family and close friends go the wrong direction with drugs and it's hard to see them that way because they won't change ever and it's hard to write them off but it's the best thing to do because you don't need that type of stuff in your life it will stress you out and you don't need that.
@@weedhead421 Will Do... Im 1 year from finishing highschool and i wont give up even if its not looking bright. Thanks sir for you advice and love. Imma also check out these artists.
@@gemininelzo9138 your welcome God bless and take care and hope you do graduate that will be one of the best days in your life that you will remember forever.
We used to cruise on Friday nights & my friend had Cerwin Vega 18’s powered by 2,500 watts of Phoenix Gold & Rockford fosgate mids & tweets with a 1,000 watts of Fosgate & this CLASSIC JAM would turn heads from 10 cars ahead. When we played This jam the bass would be droppin so hard & crystal clear.Good times 👍🏽😎
I was late to getting my license. Got it in 2015 at 19. First car was a 2000 silver Buick le sebre I bought from my grandma when she couldn’t drive anymore. No aux so I would use the radio and this would always play on the radio! Such good memories
I've lived here (Seattle/Auburn, WA) about 8 years now, and don't get all the references and places yet... But now I know what Dick's is (and clearly see their iconic colors in this music video)-- make me want a burger right now lol...!
*When we were kids. "Our parents just* *don't understand this music"* *Now as parents. "Kids just don't* *understand this music"* *The Absolute Irony😂*
Yep it's 2023 and I'm still craving to hear it.. "Maharaji's on the def side dancin' like a freak/The girlies see his booty and their knees get weak" is my favorite part. Always makes me do "The Wop".
I remember when I was 10 hurrying up with homework and dinner begging my mama to play her Sir Mix a Lot tape. My favorite song was buttermilk biscuits 😂
Man I’ll never forget being in my daddy’s ‘84 regal, with them 4 10s, wire wheels, candy paint, and ridin thru the hood bumpin this with the windows down. Pops was living like that but he used to bring me round his homies and tell em, “I’m with my posse today” good memories
51 and still loving this like the year it came out! In '88 I was a junior in high school when hip hop and rap was still new and coming up. Ask the greats like NWA, Eazy-E, 2 Live Crew, man what a time we were in.
Met Mix A Lot at Sea-Tac airport. HUGE bodyguard, he was cool, gave us autographs, wish cell phones were a thing back then. Who remembers BUTTERMILK BISCUITS or GORTEX?
Nothing like the old-school music nice and clean. I'm from the 70s and 54 yrs now still love this music ,brings back memories. The new music of these days are nice ,but doesn't compare!😂😂
I had no idea how mix rolled out in Seattle back in 88. I had just moved from Washington D.C. area to the Midwest. I saw this video it changed the way I saw hip hop all together..
I was 8 when this same out. My dad bumped it in his Pontiac Grand AM when he'd pick me up from daycare. I can still rap every word without missing a beat 30-something years later.
45 my man, but close. Mix-a-lot was amazing in the day. So funny to go back and hear what was cool in '89. It was cool to have 50 series low profile tires on your whip, a phone in the car was still a rich man's toy. Pagers and Beepers, oh man, those were the worst. But that was the culture at the time. You can also tell Mix-a-Lot is a gear head, he knows cars, all the detail in My Hooptie is fantastic.
🤓🤓🤓 it was nothing like it to enjoy this back in the days to have your flip seats down with the double 🔉10-in bass tube kicker 🔉 2 🔉15-in 🔉woofers mounted in the back busting the seals out of your window along with four mid ranges and two treaters with a crossover Network and 1,000 W amplifier and a 800 watt amplifier to push all this out of your🔉 sunroof🔉 going down the road, those were the days. From 1988 now here it is 2022 Sir Mix-a-Lot is still hitting🔥💣💥 My Posses in Rocky Mount❤✌👍🙏. Home of the Northern Nash Knights Home of the Rocky Mount Senior High Gryphons.🔥💣💥🖤❤👍✌🙏
The very first time I heard that song i thought my friend was playing a joke on me because he sounded just like them. It took him about 15 minutes to convince me otherwise....last i heard he was a paralegal love ya joey hope all is well!
That instrumental is so hard...with the right sound system...the bass would be rumbling..like in my cousin's gold Benz 190 E with two 12's in the trunks!
Went with my cousin for his senior beach trip in 89 to Myrtle Beach and just cruisin while jamming to the Swass album and NWA's Straight Outta Compton. Great music and great times.
I just discovered this song, (44 yr old lover of all music but especially 90s rap) & i cannot believe i had not heard it before. This song is so awesome & hilarious!
I was only 7 when this came out and at the time my grandma had a caddy and her and my mom would turn this up in the car along with going back to Cali by LL Cool J, man I miss the 80’s and 90’s
