Because Sir Percy is one sharp dressed man...[This one's for you, Baroness Orc :) ~SG ] Song: "Sharp Dressed Man" by Jo Dee Messina Clips: The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982
It's so funny how he can look inexpressibly silly in those clothes when he's pretending to be a fop, and totally awesome when he lets his real personality shine through!
I love this video about a fabulous film (the best Scarlet pimpernel version ever). This song is amazing, it seems to have been written for Sir Percy. Anthony Andrews' expressions are incredible. This actor is a genius. He makes me think of Toby Stephen's in 2006 Jane Eyre version : as unexpected, and as totally convincing.
So I decide to show The Scarlet Pimpernel to my friend because it is my absolute favorite movie and book and the first words out of my friend's mouth were "Oh my god. I want that golden suit!" Percy Blakeney is the sharpest dressed man. And this video captures his attitude and charisma perfectly. Thank you!
I LOVE this! It's such a cool song, and it fits Percy perfectly. Is he the most magnificent figure of a man you have ever seen, or what? I wish that there were men like that in our time... Brave and noble men can be found even in our days, but they surely do not dress as well!
@Biscom Impressive edit to a classy tune. There is nothing more satisfying in this life than rendering assistance to distressed damsels & it helps if the assistant is dressed accordingly.
Yeaaah, Scarlet Pimpernel. I am not crazy about blond guys, but him. The Scarlet Pimpernel was my childhood idol. I used to draw his sign everywhere. That is how I gave up mermaids...:))) A girl can dream, right?
Anthony Edwards is my second favorite Percy and Leslie Howard is my all time favorite Percy. Anthony Edwards was so gorgeous, debonair and so funny in this great mini-series! Thanks!
This is fabulous! The movie is one of my all-time-favourites but at the moment I haven't got enough time to watch the whole movie - I would actually forget everything else - so I watch this video whenever I can and I'm in a good mood all day long. Thank you very, very much =)
@ericthefrootbat HELL YEAH! I want to major in history (and possibly minor in theatre), and I'm obsessed with it all. Fashion especially. I have a list of people who I scared half to death just talking about corsets/stays. haha
haha, i watched part of this movie in my english class. and i couldn't stop laughing at sir percy's face. it's priceless, and it's like he's about to laugh or something. LOLOLOLOLOLOL(:
thumbs-down #3 Saturday’s late afternoon 1 August 2020. I have watched videos showcasing this film many times, loved most of them. Then SINK ME, one comes along and gives me reason to give a thumbs-down! This film and its predecessor are classics. SO glad the British folks used the music that they did.
