The fact that they argue about it even though they agree they each don't think it worked for them specifically or would work for adults is funny in itself.
In The Company of Men was a stunner. I saw it when it came out and left the theater with a different feeling than I'd ever had before, or since. I think it was pure revulsion, with a dash of exhilaration.
In the company of Men is such a dark film with a dark humor thrown in to the mix. If you love dark comedies then this one is for sure for you! I personally think this film is an instant classic! And at 15:01 lol that little segment in the end was hilarious 😂
@@nox5870 I got the message of the film but the film was nothing more than two guys being mean to a woman . Tell me what else happened in the movie ??? I'll wait
@@christiansoldier77 Reducing a film to its plot is like reducing a restaurant to its menu. But I have a suspicion that you're just trolling, and rather incompetently.
Saw "In the Company of Men" in a theater when it came out. Stunned. No matter what Aaron Eckhart does - he will always be measured against his performance here. BTW - many men, if given the chance to get away with, would like to behave like the Chad character at least once in their lives.
I LOVE Box Of Moonlight. LOVE IT! Wonderful, wonderful movie---i'm very nicely surprised to see it covered here!!!!! (and the fact that they both liked it is even sweeter!!!!)
Omg good burger! I dont know if it was a hit but the commercial for it in theaters drove us all crazy. The cheesy lines we would mimic & then scream I hate this commercial. I still remember it 23 years later " can I get a shake " & Kelly says " ok & shakes the customer " or " welcome to good burger home of the good burger can I take ur order " his voice is so annoying which is a put on for some reason. omg it ran for what seemed the whole summer. Lol. When I saw siskel & Ebert review this I had to click right away ! Air force one was another with ford in angry voice " get off my plane " 97 to 97 had really good movies & horrid ones. I have an 8 year old who watches Nickelodeon I think I'm gonna show my kid good burger & see what she thinks. Lara Flynn boyle , I remember she was such an in demand actress who disappeared. A lot of 90s actresses just disappeared. Her , neve Campbell, jennifer love Hewitt, rose McGowan ( well we know why now ) mira sorvino ( see rose ) tara Reid, Sarah michelle gellar , & even gweneth Paltrow only had a short run . Reese Witherspoon out of all the teen movies survived . She was in fear, freeway, fear, pleasantville , cruel intentions & one of my faves election. Pretty cool she has lasted so long & still a big star. It's very hard for an actress that started in teen movies to grow into mature female roles. The rest vanished when the 2000s started. I knew reese was good when she played a total pychotic in freeway , such a disturbing movie.
Not really... He was known to hate certain slasher movies and others he felt were meanspirited. I don't think he gave an automatic thumbs down to movies containing sadistic themes either, though.
I probably didn't see the same movie or I'm very dense. In the company of men, great yes, but it's just chad being a dirty alfa - he screwed over everyone, the friend howard, all coworkers, his girlfriend and christine so it doesn't paint all men black and it defo isn't a feminist movie. Siskel was indeed a person who had a sheltered life if he never met a chad or a chadette (yeah, it does go the other way as well)
Man I can’t believe they didn’t review this from a 2020 point of view where all of those things have now come to light since this movie came out… It’s almost as if that behavior was not out in the open back then. And for the record since you seem to want to act like this review was done in 2020 rather than the year that the movie came out… The year the movie came out it was heralded as a feminist movie that’s why he made that comment. I hate to say it but yeah you are kind of dense for putting your opinion in 2020 against their opinion when the movie first came out 30 years ago. See back then it wasn’t so out in the open that they had clever nicknames like chads and alphas spelled incorrectly. You strike me as the kind of person they wouldn’t understand what the big deal is about a movie like psycho because you’ve seen Texas chainsaw massacre or you’ve seen scream… You don’t seem to understand that movies of the past are what would set the framework for things like that. A movie like the crying game being released in 2020 would not be shocking… But guess what when it was released it was absolutely shocking. And it set the framework for why it is not shocking today. A movie like In the presence of men brought those things to the forefront and made it acceptable to talk about them… So that you now can call them Chad’s and alphas…
@@Hellraiser0601 I mean the sketch itself from All That didn't exactly warrant them making it into a feature film, like when they gave certain SNL characters their own movies. But I don't think Kel was unbearable in that role. As for Kenan, I love him and all but he over time has become less funny to me.
Jimmy Polio but a movie called Good Burger from Nickelodeon isn’t asking for Lawrence Olivier level of acting. It’s suppose to be stupid and goofy. That’s what the whole skit was about on All That which kids watched which is why Genes pissy attitude towards it makes no sense : )
They keep making the same stupid criticism that a movie does not have a fresh idea so they dont like it . So I guess a woman isnt attractive because they all have breasts and legs and arms. You have to judge each one on its merits
Siskel & Ebert was absolutely wrong about Good Burger the movie is so funny and I can’t believe gene siskel saying that the movie is stupid and he call Kenan & Kel dumb he’s wrong
Air Force One is a phenomenal movie!! I just watched it again tonight for the first time in like 10 years. I was as enthralled as much this time as I was then. Classic.
