I liked Outland. A very underrated film. Also, I actually saw Legend of the Lone Ranger in the theater. I was young and my older sisters dragged me to see it. It wasn’t good. I still remember it.

I love Outland! Directed by the singularly underrated Peter Hyams, who also directed Capricorn 1, The Star Chamber and Stay Tuned.

Their description of a slow, solemn origin story for the Lone Ranger could describe half of all franchise entertainment for the past 20 years.

I remember my parents first bought a VCR. the lone ranger was one of the only tapes we had. I was about 6 or 7. I couldn't even sit through it.

I love how Siskel made Ebert laugh at the beginnings and then it turned into a bickering episode. 😂😂

I have a feeling that when Siskel was on his deathbed, he looked up at the ceiling and whispered the words "Clinton Spilsbury"; then he died.

The legend of the lone ranger tried to do the same thing that the 1978 Superman movie did the 1978 Superman movie did something that had never been done previously. We finally got a Superman film that mythologized Superman in the 1978 film and rightfully so and it was pulled off successfully. The people that made the legend of the lone ranger tried to do that they tried to mythologize that character and it failed.

Wow...the horse and the explosions can act better than Clinton Spilsbury.

The Lone Ranger looks like a made for T.V movie.

I enjoy outland more thanks to the Directors intentional connections to Alien.

I LOVE Death Wish. What they don't understand is that the movie is based on true events, so the story is really just trying to stick to some basis of fact rather than be all cinematic and pander to audiences, which I respect tremendously.

Outland was excellent the book was too

Gene was right on when he said Klinton Spilsbury would end up as a future trivia question. Thats all he is now.
