I love the first, second and fourth, and like the third and fifth, but yeah. The loss of John Milius in the script department after _Magnum Force_ was certainly felt.
The first four movies all succeeded because, as Siskel and Ebert point out, the producers were very clever in reading the mood of the moviegoing public and tailoring each film for its time.
I saw this episode of Cisco and Ebert when it was originally released this video cut out some of the original content such as at the end Jean Cisco said he thought the first one was the best and they got progressively worse or less less good as they went down the line Rodger Ebert thought that the last one was the best and they went in reverse from best to worse I think you would have to agree with Gene Siskel who I felt was a much better critic than Rodger Ebert
People are more inline with these movies nowadays due to things like bail reform where violent criminals are getting right back out and committing new crimes.
In fairness to harry, scorpio was the devil. The thing about harry was,he wasnt a superhero...he was realistic,he could be someone you know...6'4" of grumpiness thats had a bad day.
Magnum force was a good movie my second favorite in the series next to the original however the premise of Magnum Force was a little farfetched we're in Dirty Harry was more realistic especially compared to the times that it was made also Dirty Harry had something that Magnum Force didn't have and that was Andy Robinson
@@ricardocantoral7672 there was never a better betrayal of a psychopathic homicidal maniac then Andy Robinson's portrayal of Scorpio. Even psychology / psychiatric courses of the day showed scenes of Andy Robinson's portrayal to their students
Siskel said he only liked the first, until they reviewed _The Dead Pool,_ which may be my favorite. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UQ2E9CwLt0g.html I think Ebert liked them all, but let me check his reviews.
