Lina Sandell from Sweden wrote the words. Carola has an album titled Blot En Dag with many more of Lina Sandells songs, and I believe Ahnefeldt wrote the music for those as well.
What a wonderful find for me. My favorite female vocalist and a hymn I have been searching for. As a pipe organist and choral director I have used this for many years . Lovely lady then as she is this day. Bless you.
The words of the English translation for congregational singing are similar: "Day by day and with each passing moment, Strength I find to bear my trials here, Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment, I have no need for worries or for fear, He whose heart is kind beyond all measure, Gives unto each day what He deems best-- Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure, Mingling toil with peace and rest."
oh wow, I haven't heard this particular rendition and I love it. This was one of the first songs I could enjoy when I got my artificial hearing activated so it is very special to me. I used to like Karola's version, but there is something really special about this version too. Beautiful voice.
