I mean, when you're filming a show on Broadway, you really gotta do your best to keep the camera hidden. Those erratic movements are probably him hiding the camera from the ushers going around.
This was going to be my senior musical, but it got cancelled because of COVID-19. I was going to be playing Mother Superior and my best friend (also a senior) was going to be playing Deloris. To anyone in the comments who also had their production cancelled, my heart goes out to you, and to anyone here who is preparing for their own production of this show, please cherish your experience because this is such a fun and amazing show and I wish you to “break a leg” in your performance or audition. : )
my school has been preparing to do a filmed production and i can't imagine how it must've been to have it shut down - it's different but i have to agree this musical is so fun and heart warming omg (im playing sister mary robert!)
I remember in this high school production of sister act (which the school was mostly african american) sister lazerus (who was black) walks up to deloris when she's telling them she isn't a nun and goes "you're still black, right?"

The thing I love about being a singer is that I can watch these things and genuinely be impressed by the vocals. First of all, deloris. HOT DAMN. but an underrated set of vocals is Eddie's actor. His range! His control! His expression! Get this man his deserved recognition!!!
. From 9:25-12:00 . I thought that whole scene was hilarious especially when she walked in on the shooting "I saw nothing just a whole mess of nothing I came to thank for this stunning blue fur and it goes with everything oh look Ernie's taking a nap" .... those guys in the background laughing makes it even the more funnier 😂 . I love this musical it's so damn good 👍🏽👍🏽 . I'm just going to slide on out of here . 😂

Katherine Stevenson hello my fellow Deloris! I got cast as her and I swear I almost cried. Honestly, Patina is wonderful in this. She’s a joy to watch and hear.
Doing a character study so I could learn a little more in depth with my character, because I had never seen Sister Act before I knew my character died. But I didn’t know he died in the first 10 minutes, there goes my “in-depth analysis” of my character 😂

I find it so interesting this shows music is from Alan Menken. It sounds like a cross between Hercules, Beauty and the beast and Tangled. "The life I never led" screams Tangleds reprise of when will my life begin. All the Sister Mary Clarence songs give me such Hercules vibes. Is so fascinating the comparisons. Brava Alan Menken👏👏👏
Love hearing the guy laugh and enjoying the show this is the best musical I have ever seen around 9 years ago Patina Miller Manchester gutted it's been cancelled because of covid.
I just finished a 16-show run of this show as Monsignor O'Hara, and it went *really* well! Sold out several days before opening night! I've been in seven different musicals and a number of smaller shows and concerts so far, and this one takes the cake as the most fun I've ever had on stage ❤
Nah its a preview! This performance is April 2nd and the show didn't open til the 20th of April! There are things that are different from what is the licenced version now like the song: good to be a nun and a bunch of the dialogue! Im doing the show now and its my second time doing it so I know the show like the back of my hand! And I have close friends that did the tour and its the same version! :)
Patina never did the tour. This is the original broadway company, and it's a preview. They changed the lyrics on us in "Good to be a Nun" about a week or so into previews and several of these jokes were removed along the way. Really fun to watch again! Thanks for the memories =)
Our school just preformed the world permerire of the Jr. Version of this musical, allot of the best songs and lines are cut but it was an amazing experience and I loved every minute of it
Our school is doing sister act this year, I was originally just gonna be Pablo but the dude who was picked for eddie is ineligible, and I’m now both Pablo and eddie, I was informed of this a month before the play. However cuz of the corona virus, our school had push back the date. We still don’t know when we’re doing the musical.
Great performance from everyone especially the music the performing acting should be totally in the world academy whenever this be in DVD I would want this movie and maybe meeting the actors and actress that be the best way of spending money around of the shows of sister act
i'm trying out for this musical at mytheatrr company that's ages 12-18. i'm only 14 and i'm dying for the role of deloris. wish me luck at my audition next weekend !
I hope/wish they could release a movie version of this like they did Hamilton. (Not referring to the actual movie sister act but a full recording of the musical itself 😭🫶🏻)
Do you know a character who has the least lines but sings quite a bit in this? My school is doing the musical and I don't know who I should tryout for!! I can sing but I'm not the best at acting!!
Keelie Jones Maybe the dumb friend? I know you say you're not that good at acting but maybe acting dumb is easier? I'm sorry, I'm quite a good actress so I don't go for the "fewer lines" character. Good luck. 💖 (Or if you've already done it.)
askenajb thank you my school is about to do this show and I wanna make sure I know the show somewhat well cause it definitely helps!! also just knowing what genre of song to audition with
