My wife & I ( we are regulars on the Jam Rock Cruise & perhaps went to no more than 3 Meet & Greet ) had the pleasure to meet her . She was so sweet , simple & warm . This interview gave me more insight about her life. She’s a pioneer.
One night mid 2000's I went to a pub venue in Brixton and to my unexpected unbelievable delight Sister Nancy was performing. Half time she came and sat at the table with us. This woman is a legend so much love and respect

This was a good interview and her song takes me back to my college radio days at KSYM in San Antonio Tx. playing her on my reggae show called Reggae Vibes back in 1987. And would always play Bam Bam on a reggae set at the club. I actually first played her song when I was stationed over in the UK doing DJ sets at various military installations. And of course it's one of the great dancehall reggae classics

Danny Woober wK mK Actually, Jamaican DJs were the ones that came up to the South Bronx and taught the Americans about the sound system, the sound clash, and the method of scratching old records to make rhythms to rap on. The Jamaican use of the "riddim" is why rap music has tracks to rap on now.

Not me just putting a face to this song on 2/15/2022 at 11:49 p.m. 🤨 I first heard this song on the movie Belly. Then heard it again on the Netflix series “Maid” on Season 1 episode 3. My daughter’s watching it now but I’ve already seen it. So when I heard it playing I was like let me put this on my playlist before I forget again. Winston Riley is considered one of the GREATEST producers in Jamaican music. The same guy who produced Tenor Saw 'Ring The Alarm'. But dude was a funny business man.

True when she said Dancehall artist are saying whatever just to be heard or to be 'different'. They thinking more about showbiz than music. They care more about getting reaction from various publicity stunts. rather than getting a reaction out of the music. Its let about the music nowadays and more about the image. its sad really. Really got to be grateful of the few artists that manage to create good/great quality of music and survive in this era.
