Another scene that bothered me was when Garrison corrected Solomon and Janelle santimoniously told him (for R&K & the camera) that it was not his place to do it. Garrison, as the oldest Brown kid present, was just doing what his father-figure Logan did to raise the youngsters not to become brats.

It makes me sick that Cody is doing those cameos after Garrison's passing. It really speaks to how low his character is and shows how he hasn't learned anything from that sad situation. He's just a scumbag trying to make a buck any way he can!

Honestly, I am the same age as the OG 3, I grew up in Southern Idaho and I had racist grandparents, yet I knew sexist, racist religions were wrong. I don’t know why this group gets a pass. Mary and Christine grew up in it, I suppose they can claim indoctrination, but Janelle actually chose it! I’m glad they “got away” from Kody and I’m very glad their kids weren’t sucked in but I’ve only heard Christine say that their church is wrong and she doesn’t believe in it anymore. Ben is the most honest about that (in the Brown clan) almost no one else talks about it. The AUB is inherently racist and that extends to its members.

I don’t agree that Christine only left after Kody stopped being physical with her post Covid. She has stated clear as day that she was planning her out back in Vegas, but Janelle told her not to go until she has assets in her name or she will be left with nothing. I think in the following few years Christine was quietly making long term plans but needed things to fall into place (including inking her own contract with TLC) before she could actually kick him out. I think it was also made a lot easier by the fact that most of her kids were grown and had moved out by this time also. She made the right decision and has in turn saved the other two OG wives in the process by allowing them to secure their own financial autonomy as well. 🙌🏼

I think you're going to have to flip that. Steen Christine had already been deprived of her special time with Cody for quite a while before the surgery for Isabel. I think the breaking point was Isabel's surgery and his attitude towards covid his small children and robin. Doesn't matter that your child is having major spinal surgery and could possibly wake up paralysed or worse and you can't leave your two school age kids home alone for more than two nights? Cody's inability to categorise the importance of his children in his life is one of the huge masses downfalls. And for most people Cody about that point was just a piece of refuge that even microbes would not want to touch.

I think Meri was lying to herself and/or the camera when she said that the family of 21 eased the pain of her infertility. She was a parent only to her own child and she was alone in her pain. Polygamy worked that way in Jacob, Rebekah and Leah’s time and it’s the same now. It just doesn’t work because part of the family is always being hurt or shortchanged.

No, they were not blind. No, they were not stupid. They were members of a controlling, high demand religion. I was a member of the Mormon church for 28 years. The AUB is even MORE controlling than the mainstream LDS church. I said and did things I cannot believe now that I'm out. The OG were active members of their religion which touts not just the beliefs of the mainstream LDS church (this life is a test, tithing, active in church activities, word of wisdom, law of chastity, serving missions, taking and fulfilling callings, etc) the AUB puts those on overdrive AND adds in the principle of Polygamy. So they're groomed from birth to elevate men, be wives and mothers above any personal pursuits, suffer in silence because suffering is holy, and get over the feelings that come when your husband takes on more wives because that's god's law being obeyed. They HAD to obey no matter how they felt about any of it. Does it look like blind stupidity? Yes. But to anyone who's ever been in a high demand religion, to us it looks like surviving. To us it looks like long suffering obedient wives following the head of their household because he is ordained of God to lead them. They're not dumb. They're indoctrinated.
