Your hair is beautiful! I am three months in.. I started with 3 to 4 inches of hair and not as scalpy as I was in the beginning. You are impressing me to looking forward to my one year journey. Thank you for sharing.

I loved this video! I have been loc'd about 4 months so far and I have noticed that my locs are maturing pretty fast. I am happy with that, but I can't wait for them to get longer right now there almost shoulder length. I love your locs and yours are goals in my book.

Try Rose water and Avocado oil! I used it for 2mos and it thicken my edges.

Thanks so much Deviny for the SL vlog! I suffer with thinner edges also. After Li evaluated my locs I decided not to have my consultant reestablish my locs around my edges so, my edges are mostly loose. I was worried about how it would look but it's actually fine for me. I use Jamaican black castor oil, plain, and with rosemary on my edges sometimes every other day or every few days. Li advised me to stop using the starter shampoo ( still not sure why MY consultant didn't tell me that) and I picked up the Roux product line (in the bluish-silvery bottles). It works fine. I also use the Roux moisture retainer spray occasionally and the Nouritress botanical reconstructor spray Li recommened. I'm loving my length and can't wait to see how the growth goes over the next few years. My bantu knots aren't as defined now either, lol. My locs have thickened up throughout the lenght of the locs a lot! I do get really creative with styling sometimes. Watching your progress has been awesome. Your length and fullness are beautiful. I enjoyed getting a glimpse at Mrs Kim's locs also. Well keep posting and keeping journeying :-)♥♡♥♡

Thanks for the comparison. I will be 2 years in March and the thickness is real. My hair was already thick, so imagine what I'm working with now. If I want a ponytail I have to split my hair into 2 sections. Lol I like you also struggled with feeling like the back of my hair was flat, but I'm over it now.

My inspiration! My Sisterlocks are about 9 months into my journey. I have had great days and bad days, lol. But overall it is the best thing I've ever done for my hair. My hair is fine, low density and loose curl and in the beginning it was so scalpy! But it is filling in and the grid isn't nearly as visible as it was and it's getting fuller overall. My new SL consultant is doing a reverse 3 pattern so my roots are much fuller now. Anyway thanks for sharing your SL journey. 💗

Hello, I'm just over a year (10/9) in to my journey. I'm loving every minute. I'm surprised how patient I have been..haha! Coming in to it I could not wait to have the length...but it's coming along. I have pretty dense hair but I've noticed that my hair is looking fuller even when my braid-out is old.

Hey Deviny, your locs are really full now especially in the back. I hit my two year mark back in September and I started with only 4 inches of hair so it's grown a lot. I wash my sister locs once per week and oil my scalp with Wild Growth Oil and put Sister Loc Moisture Treatment on the locks itself and it's been working for me thus far. I do have a tiny tiny section of hair by the nape of my neck that REFUSES TO LOCK! UGH! My loctician tried every thing in the book to keep it locked and would actually put knots in it and that little soft baby hair just laughs and work itself lose every single time. Girl I got so mad at that hair, I actually got some clippers and shaved it off and did a undercut. My hair grow right back real quick and keep laughing😡

I'm 15 months in now and the major difference is the thickness. I use the Suave clarifying shampoo as well and I love it. So far I only use Rose water for moisture. That's worked pretty well for me. I'm not completely locked yet but I'm close. It's mostly the ones in the front that are taking the longest to lock.

I've had my sl for 15 mths. I've experienced bunching and it seems like the ends of my hair are much larger than the loc.😭 I still love them.

I just use coconut oil while my hair is wet... that’s it. It will be two years for my with my SL in May 2019 😍

I’ll be a year Sisterlocked on the 31st🙌🏾❤️ You should try Dr. Bonner’s Castile Soap. I use the Tea Tree one. It works so good! Very soapy🙏🏾 I dilute it with water in a spray bottle, & it really cleans your Locs. You hair is so beautiful btw💕

Yay! An SL video :) Deviny, lather doesn't mean the shampoo did anything. It is actually a marketing scheme. I remember how self-conscious you were about your lack of fullness. Your locs were gorgeous but you would not let them down. I was so happy for you when you noticed how they transformed. That was a good video :) What have I noticed about my SL transformation? I'm 1 yr and 5 months in, and on the 10th month I felt I had more hangtime. I guess they weren't as contracted. One day my personal trainer filmed my pullups and all I noticed was my fullness. I don't take many pics because I'm afraid to become obsessed. But man the fullness is on point. Other than that, it's nice to feel the locg progress down the loc.

I love your video. I got my locs in May. I love it. The only down side I see is my locs looking dry, and the fuzziness near my scalp with almost every Locs.

Lynette Matthews congrats on getting your locs started and yes I had fuzziness as well, they will loc up and become less fuzzy the more you keep getting your retightenings 🤗

Deviny I so enjoy your channel. My installation is set for Jan 19. I had traditional locs for 4 years. That was many many years ago. I love how sisterlocs look. I am a bit nervous because I don’t have great density. I really want to wear “my” hair. For some months now I have just braided it and worn head-wraps. I’m rambling.... so nice to say hello and your videos are such an inspiration. 💕

I started like 5-6 months after u and u were one of the people that made me wanna get Locs well I bleached them, terrible mistake I lost like 3-4 inches of my locs devastating!!!!!!! Your hair looks amazing it jus made me wanna slap myself again lmao

Your SL are beautiful. I felt like you about getting SL because I also have fine hair in the front. Once i got them established, I was like not bad. I love them. I'm almost 3 months in. I noticed my hair is getting fuller. Thank God. BTW..my name is similar to yours...Devonee (D VON KNEE). Ppl have pronounced my name with yours a lot.

There is trial and error in everything. You just have to find what methods and products work for you and your hair. I think it's all part of the journey. I actually do put oils in my hair. My loctician sprayed a mixture of peppermint oil and water on my scalp when she finished my install. She even gave me a small bottle to take home with instructions to only spray my scalp. I now use a mixture of essential oils on my scalp which I also lightly spray on my hair after I wash it. It helps keep moisture and makes my hair smell good too. I also sleep with a satin cap.

I have regular formed locks and I am glad that I do not have to depend on anyone for maintenance. If I spend $100 on my hair in a year I have spent way to much money.

OMG I so wanna be a flight attendant for my next career move (currently in the medical field), btw I love your locs and I have been contemplating micro/sistah locs for years now just couldn't afford to have them done so I'm currently doing my research to be able to do them my self. Any suggestions or input as to what I can do next? Your beautiful!

Thank you for sharing love! I have brother locs the are interlocked like sister locs . The difference is that they are slightly thicker. The front goes every direction. And the back goes to the back. I love my locs And I absolutely love your locs!

Hi, the major differences I have noticed is that I have very low density fine hair. When I started my sisterlock journey, my hair was thin and very scalp. I started in February 2022. I am now 2 years locked. The major differences now are that my hair has blossomed alot and it is not scalp as it was when I first started.

from what i'm learning, 1. normal shampoo have lots of chemicals in it to make it foamy, which is not actually good for our hair. 2. the sistaloc shampoo is to help enable the locking process and reduce or not experience slippage. untill our hair has established its more effective to stick to the shampoo as its natural and better for our sisterloc hair. 3. our scalp will be allow to eventually create its own oil. there is not need to be putting oils in out hair period, our hair is awesome enough to embrace the style and grow some serious length but also its own olls. I'm loving my locs best decision of my life. wish i did it sooner. x

@@ah-ss7he depends on a few things one big thing is your length. I dont want to start off short. My consultant quoted be at about 900-1k . That includes your consult, install and first retie as well as your sisterlocks products to start off with.

@@LetsJourney No problem!!!! My sisterlocks are just under 1 year but I still use sisterlock starter/dandruff shampoo. I use Herbal essence dry shampoo between washes because I'm lazy...lol
