Hey good people! It's now time for the Sisters of Sigmar! Even though I had some hardships in this video I think the end result was good! What do *YOU* think? Which Mordheim Warband should I cover next? Please tell me in the comments down below! Stay safe and lots of love to you all! 👍💙💛💙
Anything Mordheim is awesome - have you thought about painting up some of the Dramatis Personae that can be hired by most of the warbands? That is, if you can get hold of any of them! (or i guess print some alternatives)
I’ve been looking forward to this video!! This series is my favourite thing on RU-vid and you and the effort you put into your videos are the main cause of that! I can’t wait for you to do the Skaven as they are my favourite warband
Honestly, it would be rad to see you cover the Orcs and Goblins band - a bit of a contrast in playstyle and mentality... I had one goblin get Ladz got Talent... Only to discover that means they automatically are killed by the orcs who think the Ladz got too big for his boots!!
Brother your content is like a warm hug or pat on the back from a loved one or respected colleague. You leave the viewer smiling with a feeling of community and shared experience to power them through their next project! Excellent content, we truly appreciate the time you put into these videos. 5-star Mordheim inspiration as always! 👏👏👏
Love Mordheim. Last game my Undead ended up teaming up with the Sisters. (The conceit is that my Vampire thinks that he is one of the good guys. He's wrong, but he does try.) Facing off against Reiklanders and Witch Hunters. The only shooty guy on our side was one of my dregs, with a crossbow. My vampire even managed to save the matriarch - doubling up with her against the Witch Hunter's leader. Those Monstrous Encounters sisters look excellent - I need to add them to my arsenal.
I recently went from an Elegoo printer to an Anycubic, and the difference has been MASSIVE. Part of it, I think, is the fact that the Anycubic is a more recent model, with all the generational improvements one might expect, but even accounting for that (and comparing the results I was getting from my Mars Pro to a friend's who got a Photon around the same time) I suspect that Anycubic just makes better machines. Getting your settings really dialed in can improve your results, certainly, but at the end of the day there's a mechanical limit to how much of a difference it can make. The other thing to consider is your resin. There are many who seem to swear by SirayaTech Fast Navy Grey, and I have to say I've had no complaints with it apart from its tendency to separate quite quickly. It captures detail extremely well, and also has the benefit of being a lot tougher than many other UV resins. Even if you don't want to take the drastic step of switching printers at this time, trying out different resins to find one you like might improve your results somewhat - it certainly did on my Mars.
Thank you so much John Kidby for the information! I am currently looking into some options for a new printer. Also, I think for me, controlling the temperature might be of the essence! 👍😅
His accents throw me sometimes. I had a few queued vids the other day, and after a could all I could think was "Who is that speaking?". But every now and then his accent will catch on word or two and I instantly recognise it again.
little bit of lore and then bam my fav part seeing your painting skills unleashed on a gray army. Also shout out to Vae Victis. amazing models and bases. glad to see you use some of there stuff even if it was base tops
If you only had asked, I could have sent you some of the original Sisters of Sigmar. My bunch do only sleep -partially painted- in a box all time. Colour-coding is a must have for Orders, so -> well done again. Nice to see the parts of Mordheim now coming together on your table so well. Have fun, lots of fun with them, lots of fun!
I am building a sos warband now from a box called Sisters of Talliareum. They are more like plate armored knights with capes, but I like them a lot. I needed some kitbashing and green stuff to make the steel whips though.
Just started a Sisters warband in our campaign, and am using Highlands' awesome 3d printed "Warriors of the Lady" models. Partially because I completely missed that they also do *actual* Sisters sculpts. Doh! Thanks for this video! Now I can go print some whips for my Ladies! Seriously - the Steel Whips are great!!
@@DevsDice they're my favourite proxy, but it also helps that my Friendly Local 3d-Printer friend is subscribed to them. He's just signed up with Bestiarum as well, so there could be some seriously grim-dark options popping up soon...
Oh - also "Monstrous Encounters" does a dedicated Sisters of Sigmar crew. I've grabbed their Matriarch & Augur STL, as I didn't have a suitable Augur model, and will use their Matriarch as the Sisters' Dramatis Personae, "Bertha Bestraufrung". Loads of weapon options there as well.
I wasn't a big fan of Mordheim or age of Sigmar, but I am a fan of your crafting skills. And honestly these ladies you painted up took my breath away. The way their hair turned out was amazing. I commented out loud to the TV how awesome they looked and my wife said "No Thomas we cant afford you starting another game you wont play." But where theres a will theres always a way. Great video, beautiful board and mini's.
You should also remove the supports before curing the resin, I'm guessing since you're using pliers and not wearing gloves you're doing it after curing. Before curing if you soak them in hot water it makes the supports really soft and they'll just peel right off. Only problem is the water, you don't want to be pouring that into a drain so what I do is put it in a glass jar and set that outside to cure with sunlight and evaporate.@@DevsDice
Printing failures are the worst it sucks the enthusiasm right out of you, but seeing your Sisters done up makes the pain worth it... Consider it a bit of your own flagellation, purifying you and making you worthy of Sigmar's Grace!
This was one of those warbands I was looking forward to, great find with those 3DPrints, alas I'll have to kitbask Sisters .. enjoyed the intro and seeing the warband in the city at the end. Who next you ask .. well, I did see some scurrying movement in the shadows, something .. verminous .. I vote Skaven (not that they exist, rat men? crazy talk).
Awesome to hear that this one was appreciated Ellesse! I think they came out looking like a gang of no-nonsense badass warriors! Good suggestion! I will add it to the list! 👍😃
So if you want to make any sort of indentation into the foam: XPS foam. If you're just using it to bulk-up for a hill or such? EPS foam! Hope that helps! 👍😅
Inte alls avis... Vill också ha en sådan hobby stuff. Det går sakta men säkert framåt mot min mål!! Bra video som alltid! Din lore telling är rysande! :D
Excellent work and storytelling :) You showed Sisters of Battle and I think the Kill Team Novitiate is a good pick. Even includes a whip. From what I remember it was the most infamous/popular in the various FAQs back when the game was released. Also, I always thought the Frostgrave Sigilist wizards would be a good fit for Mordheim nuns :)
Right on, my berserker friend! Always enjoy your videos with your humor and care for the community. I’m sure I speak for many people and say that we really appreciate you. -Rick, USMC
This is a fantastic video - I'm just about to start in a local Mordheim league with a Sisters warband inspired to a large extent by this video and your output in general. I went for Axia minis "templars of the flaming rock" for my own chosen sculpts/way of avoiding paying £200 for the original sculpts
To help getting the supports off, once you have washed them and before your cure them. The best thing to get the supports off is hot water. Dip them in and the supports will just fall away. Care is needed around thin parts, but this is still some much easier than removing once fully cured. Loving the work!
@@DevsDice I totally understand. I am sure it really takes a lot of time and effort to produce these videos. I will change it to I hope you enjoy the process a lot and thank you for this video!
Good morning sir! Love starting the weekend off with a deep cut back into the fantastic world of Mordheim! The love of the setting comes through clearly and keeps me inspired to keep hobbying as well!. All the best sir!!!
Your channel has honestly been an amazing amount of inspiration to me as someone new to ‘the hobby’. I adore your videos, such that I’ve bought myself a proxxon and will be replicating some of your incredible builds (or trying to, anyway, I’ve not done this before!).
Hi Leif, really enjoying your mordheim videos. Especially as I'm getting back into the hobby after almost two decades. Great job on making warbands and models accessible! It would be really interesting to get your advice on models for those of us without a printer, as it sets quite a high entry bar.
Thank you so much Mads! Glad to hear that you're enjoying the videos! I try to mention some options in each of my videos both for printing and physical miniatures! 👍😅
Devs & Dice is actually off the charts incredible, such amazing production quality and fun. Keep it up Leif! I'd love to see some Skaven hitting the streets of Mordheim in the future!
Also i don't know if you are curing the prints before taking off the supports but I always wash my prints in IPA, then take off the supports, and then cure them - makes taking off supports far easier without damaging the models.
That is so nice of you to say Nic G! It is a pleasure hearing that one's efforts are well received! Skaven is definitely on my list! When it comes to the printing I did use some hot water but for the pre-supported minis they were still kind of chunky! 👍😅
Impressive as usual! Love the table set up. I need to go check your backlist of videos - I may have missed that one with the GIANT building right in the middle!
Great content as always! I'm working on a Sisters warband right now, using Raging Heroes Sisters/Daughters of the Orphanage minis. Great sculpts and so much fun to convert and paint!
Nice job with the color coding! Did the opposite thing for my night goblin warband. Red for henchmen and yellow for heroes. Very useful for warbands where henchmen and hero minis look very similar. That allowed me to kitbash quite a few heroes from the generic night goblin sprues.
For sure Jonas! I am looking forward to try to take a similar approach to all warbands! Thinking that the chaos ones will be the trickiest potentially! 👍😅
Always waiting for your videos ! I've been working on a witch hunters warband ever since seeing your videos and tutorials. One day I will find somebody to play mordheim with !
I was not particularly interested in Mordheim before I saw your videos. But I am more and more intrigued. And I know now that if I finally get to jump on it I'm gonna make a Sisters of Sigmar warband. Thanks for the videos.
Hello! Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed watching and being inspired by your videos! I ALWAYS thought that, "Sister Sledge", would be an outstanding name!
Heresy has some cool battle nuns in their fantasy range too. After some searching, i ordered some of those. They are stl or printed, which is nice for someone without printer. Also, dont underestimate the steelwhips. Bring a couple to complement the hammers. Also, slings. Cheap and fast firing. In the beginning of a campaign a viable tool. Might as well shower the enemy with stones while closing in.
Thanks for the tip Yuma Noid! Those models look amazing! Yeah I can definitely see myself getting a whole bunch of slings for my Sisters of Sigmar asap! 👍😅
I ended up using Sororitas Novitiates for my Sisters.I shaved off all the 40k bits and added bits from flagellant and clan rats in lieu of hammers. I only had a couple hammers but I feel like flails get the point across just as well.
Buying some celestian sacresant bits could work with the novitiates. They already carry maces and the arms should fit the novitiates with minimal modification.
I had some friends recommend Mordheim for that fantasy edge and I got a bit excited, but then I found out it's just another part of the Warhammer universe and you have to buy their models? Nah, I'm still happy buying a few D&D things and Frostgrave or other fantasy kits lol. I wish Warhammer would make their hobby more affordable.
Thanks for commenting Brave Little Pixel! The truth is that you do NOT need to use Games Workshop miniatures at all! There are plenty of folks using kits for Frostgrave or models for D&D who enjoy Mordheim! Do not let that stop you! 👍😊
Hey ho 😂 What should i say, i'm not a player but this whole Tabletop Thing is really cool. Maybe one of the best Hobbies worldwide. Thanks for the Video Best wishes 🤘😜
Yes, Resing printing can be challenging went taking out the supports, I don't know if you use hot water or hot air technics to soften the supports. That is what I use to minimize breaking the figures, but sometimes it happens any way.
Thanks for the suggestion Martin Carrizales! I did actually soak them in hot water but the supports had welded into these thick rows of melted resin so that did not always help! 👍😅
Been catching up to your videos, they have inspired me to start a Witch Hunters Warband! Was wondering if you were going to mention Warhammer The Old World being set decades before Mordheim was razed.
Awesome suggestion James Macpherson! Thanks for that! Another suggestion in the comments was Celestian Sacresants or Escher Gang which are good ones as well! 👍💙💛💙
Celestia sacrosanct make for awesome Mordheim models. I used them for part of my marauders. Another nice one is clan esher from necromunda, especially the death maidens. they also come with wardogs if you decide to get some ;).
I bought the same models myself off Etsy just last week. I've mostly stuck to the original models for Mordheim but i feel like the sisters have really aged the worst and this set really seems to get the imagery from Blanches art and really suit the same tabletop as the OG witch hunters or marienbergs and the like. Credit to the artist really. Now if only we could get something like that for Carnival of Chaos, now theres an expensive model range!
Kudos to your painting, modelling and overall skills. The board, buildings, etc. look great and with a dark twisted undertones, as they should have in Mordheim. I personally prefer hand made to printed ones, as you have more freedom of expression, can make the buildings nice as well as playable and ready for a human hand moving little toy soldiers. Can you maybe please share the experience how well does the paint last on the XPS - my experience with larger pieces was that the paint peeled off. So Im wandering if it was the quality of the paint or what. Thanks for the content, it is great!
Thank you so much! When it comes to the terrain, it has so far lasted quite well without any paint peeling off! 👍😅 Could be that I tend to varnish areas that see a lot of action?
