Wow! Just....Wow! Every one of those Van Gogh quilt challenge quilts were beautiful! Your lovely town was made even more lovely with the terrific displays of all the quilts. And please pass along my compliments to “G” for his wonderful filming! Thank you for sharing Anna!
A friend sent me over. Thank you, thank you. I didn’t get to go, but through your video I was able to see my two quilts. The Lilac Breasted Roller and The Chronicles of Narnia. This was my first time to put a quilt into a show. What a jot to see the quilt show. Love the music, too.
Hi Anna and G, Thanks again for these wonderful videos of the Sisters Quilt Shows. 👍💖💗🥰💜💕❤️😍. They are so inspiring and really get me excited to make quilts. I must say that the verity of quilts is amazing. Also, a huge thanks for touring the shops, without your videos I wouldn’t have been aware of the many beautiful shops that I was able to make purchases and have been totally thrilled with the products I’ve received, quickly too! Looking forward to this years quilt show with hopes that you will be filming and what your working on in the Beehive ☺️. Take care and God Bless, Chris-Raleigh NC
Thank you Anna, I have never been to a quilt show. Actually, your videos were my 1st time seeing so many quilts of different varieties an they are gorgeous. Take care and God Bless, Chris
You're right... those Van Gogh-inspired art quilts are really something! I totally agree with the judges on that one with the big blue ribbon, it's stunning. Thanks for videotaping all this and posting it, so those of us who cannot get to Sisters Oregon can still take part and enjoy the amazing quilting talents of the participants and teachers. ~Diana from Toronto, Canada
I am piecing something I am not enjoying but after seeing these beautiful quilts I'm gonna quit whining and hurry and finish and do something I TRULY LOVE. Thank you for showing us these beauties. This is why we piece fabrics!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful day and to G for his great filming. The various interpretations of Van Gogh were incredible! All the quilts were lovely, but the arty ones really took my breath away.
Having taught many lessons on VanGogh I found the VG theme amazing. My former middle school students would love them too. I love this quilt movement in Sisters. You have a dedicated group of volunteers that make it possible.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! for always taking us along to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. So very cool that your "fresh trees" Christmas quilt was displayed! It's on my bucket list is to some day see it in person. I imagine you have to get a hotel reservation way in advance and figure out all the logistics if you are a first timer. Some day.....
yes...I am somewhat a fish out of water in the art quilt world but I do love my wool and it is nice to see a variety in the show. Planning a year in advance is a good thing...the other thing I have noticed is there are a lot of tours which would be a great idea for a first timer. It was a hot year and I bet all those ladies that had an air conditioned bus that dropped them off were in heaven, lol
What a great job recording this wonderful day! I had so much fun reliving Quilt Show Saturday, while listening to great music and avoiding the heat. I saw things I missed that day, and got to enjoy some of my favorite parts all over again. Thanks for sharing, Anna & Greg! Hugs, Diane
you are such a sweet heart! I can't thank you enough for the goodies but every time I pick up the pattern I hear you voice...get the wedding gift done, lol! I can't wait to have time to visit again! I'll keep you posted on my camper mat progress!
There was lots to love about this video Anna...absolutely beautiful quilts..especially loved your “ Fresh FarmTrees “ and one called “black birds “ .. I enjoyed the peek into the darling caravan and fabulous music G . Once again a gorgeous day and I wish I was there...one of these years 🙏.. even saw a lady with a wee dog in a pram 😂...many thanks Anna and G 😘😘
Oh My!! I used my pause button a lot on this one ♥ Loved seeing all the teacher's quilts in the teacher's tent...yours looks amazing!! The Van Gogh display is wonderful....so many TALENTED quilters. Thank you so much for all the filming you and G did. Quilters are the most amazing group of people on the planet ♥
Oh, Anna! Those Van Gogh quilts! I was play.pause.play.pause! The talent at Sisters is absolutely remarkable! Thanks for bringing me along! I really love it all!
🌹Anna & G thanks for a wonderful video!! G you were amazing capturing all those quilts for more inspiration!! You also fit in every single one of those Van Goghs. Great job. Thanks!!!❤️ what a great place to visit!!!
I was fortunate to be able to attend the show this year and see your quilts in th Teacher's Tent, Anna. Beautiful work! I'm sure She Spargo is so pleased that you represent her work. And what a charming little town Sisters is! Next year I hope to get there earlier to be able to attend some classes.
Oh my gosh this video was my favorite, as a retired art teacher, my favorite artist Van Gogh, it was amazing what a bit of fabric is capable of .....you get A+.....for sharing a great quilt/art exhibit 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Fantastic show in a wonderful town. Wonderful quilts, especially the Van Goch entrants, super campsite with wonderful salvaged caravans and old cars, quilts and quilters everywhere. Try staging that in North Wales, UK!
O my goodness i don't know where to begin i loved the show. Your hubby must of did the video i felt like i was there i loved all the quilts and the special van go quilts. I loved the travel campers with the quilts. What a great time u must of had. Your r a lucky lady to see all the great quilt and the folks u must of met. I am definitely going next year. By the way i have been enjoying the guest u have been having on the bee hive. What great videos, u are awesome. Thanks again from a sister quilter
Thank you so much! I am blessed for sure on so many levels...G is on top of the list of blessings for all the work he puts in to edit the videos. I got bored with myself and thought everyone would enjoy a guest to break up the monotony :)
Thanks, Anna, for the trip down memory lane. I have been to Sisters twice for the show and I would definitely encourage all to add to their bucket list if they have not already done so. There seemed to be some new things and I'm certain that Sisters keeps it "fresh" each year. Sadly I am across the country now but maybe I will go back one day. You gave me quite a wonderful trip! Keep up the good work. Looking forward to next year with a smile on my face. Thanks!!!!
Excellent Anna and G. thoroughly enjoyed this series, from the interviews, to the set up and wandering down the avenues of quilts. You must be exhausted. a good exhausted!
Hopefully the UV rays don't fade the pretty quits. It looks like a fun time. I remember how the quilts there were used to help move the wagons over the snow way back in the day. I thought I recognized Rob from Man Quilting. :-)
it is the price we pay for one day in the sun :) I love the survival pioneer story of the settlers in Panguitch :) Rob from Man Sewing has been an important visitor/supporter of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show.
Thank you Anna for allowing me to enjoy the 2018 show. I have wanted to attend personally but this is almost like being there. Your videos have been so enjoyable.
So thrilled to see the quilts in the teachers tent, without the crowd. Thanks so much for all the video of show, get to come next year. Karen from Madison,Indiana
What a great show. Bucket list, for sure. I was surprised, however, at how few people there were. I always thought walking through town would be shoulder to shoulder.
Amazing! Pricey as well, I am sure but not without reason. To be done right it is time consuming. My aunt used to make them; all hand stitched. My mother had a couple of them but I lost track of them after she passed.
Wonderful filming G! You did a great job of it all, fun seeing you at the show this year. Thanks for some great times once again Anna, hope to see you again soon. Enjoy your visit with your sister and say hi from me.
Anna, you and G did a great job. I didn't get to come after all, so it was almost like being there in your video. My friend brought me some kettle corn, so I'm looking forward to next year.
Me encanta el video! ! ! Es una maravilla de feria , tantos quilts ...... precioso el suyo. Disfrute de Sister door . Algun año ire....... este año voy al Quilt festival en Birminghan.Uk , pero algun diaire a Sisters Saludos
Wonderful show . Thank you for taking me along, they used to have a quilt show in my town but they have discontinued it. So thanks for sharing. Joanie in Northern California
Hehe. SUCH a coincidence of names, hehe. I used to work with a Joan Cook in Northern California, lololol. =) I just thought, I have to ask hehe. Thank you for indulging me
Every time I watch one of your videos, I remark to myself that street looks familiar, then realize where you are. I live 2 1/2 hours from there, and have enjoyed the show a couple of times.
Stunning. My favorite of the small Van Gogh quilts did not get an award - but the two i saw that did were every bit as good - if not better! You had masterpieces of every size there - not just the Van Gogh competition. I saw a lot to inspire me!! I am an artist, designer, now retired and wanting to quilt. And here were large and small pieces that I absolutely loved! I don't know the artist but two of the larger quilts were perfect stained glass window looking quilts - I would love the artist's name please! Have you put up the 2020 show yet, or did it get squashed by Covid-19? Which happenstance would be regrettable but totally understandable. Love this show, this work and your artists!!
Does anyone by chance know the name of the Pocket Watch quilt pattern that was in the teachers tent at the 2018 Sisters Quilt Show. The quilt was done up in Tim Holtz fabric and I would love to buy the pattern
That was my favorite quilt in the teachers tent...don't tell anyone! I loved it and you would think I would have read the info attached to it but nooooo...silly girl. loved the palate and design...
Wow. Looks like so much fun. Its on my bucket list. Is it only one day and are they nailing quilts to the side of the building??? Great video, nice and slow movements.
Anna, what a fabulous show!!! Question - How long do the quilts stay up? What a magnificent production! Thank you for taking me along; also tell G his musical selection was wonderful!!!
They start hanging at 7 am and then weather permitting they stay up till 4:00 pm. In the last 43 years there has been 3 times where it started raining in the afternoon and they all came down quickly :) G is very serious about his music choices :)
Thank you so much for doing this! I came and showed last year 2017 for the first time. But couldn't make this year as I attended a family wedding. Can anyone tell me where the canned ham trailers were and are they part of the show? I have a teardrop I'd like to bring next year and wonder if I can get in on this if it is a camping opportunity. Or maybe just a display.
