Exactly. When I read 'Sitar Metal', I was afraid the sound of sitar would get lost in the heaviness, as you put it. But these guys have done a tremendous job of maintaining the spacing between the instruments.
The speed, clarity, melodic beauty and tightness of your playing are beyond insane. The best part is that all of this is seen without compromising on the authenticity of the classical music Its motivating me now to practice harder
Legit: I have been waiting my whole life for this. Indian people playing heavy metal, with sitars, on their own terms. A proud Indian space program. Indian people writing science fiction, in their own inimitable way. I have always loved Indian culture, even from childhood. I knew the collision of India and cyberpunk/the future would be awesome!
I'm a classically trained singer and someone who also dabbles in metal vocals. I never comment on yt. But i just couldn't help but comment on how good this is. I love love love how this maintains the heavy tones of metal without compromising the Indian classical aspect of a sitar. this is a masterpiece. Please please please continue making such good music, I'm honestly speechless on how good this is.
It also seems to be inclusive of all races. Blacks, whites, Asians & people of all nationalities get together and create music, All in the same band. Totally Awesome!!!!
@@steventheo69 calm down there, buddy. Metal is anything but inclusive. A few people of color spattered here and there but from my experiences at shows evidence points to the contrary. If you're performing people are tolerant because you're performing a role. If you're in the pit... Phew.
nobody else Eh, kinda. I thought it sounds way more like Lateralus, and was overall better than 10Kdays... Then again 10kDays didn’t stray that far from Lateralus, so I can see why someone relates it to that too.
nobody else the new album sounds absolutely nothing like 10,000 Days. Fear Innoculum could only wish to be half as good as 10,000 Days. Not saying it’s anywhere near a bad album tho
Ross Trbojevic hey my dude, you do you! Tbh I love 10kDays, but it’s still probably my 4th in line, if I was forced to rate all their albums from my favorite to least favorite. I’m definitely NOT saying that Finoculum blew 10kD out of the water, far from it! It’s just that after a ton of listens I prefer it as an album more than 10k, and that’s despite liking a couple 10K tracks more than any individual tracks on FI, but I’m more of an album guy, so that’s a big reason why I prefer one over the other, but certainly not the whole reason... In my experience, and I’ve noticed this with many people, favorite albums (or songs/artists/etc) often comes down to said albums playing an important part youth, or some pivotal stage in one’s life. That’s a huge part of why Lateralus is by far my favorite Tool album, and Ænema is a strong number two, bc those albums had a huge impact on me as a teen, and Lateralus straight up changed the way I think about the world and started me down a “spiritual” path, as cheesy or cliche as that is.. Point being, that’s largely why I prefer one album to another, etc, as is the case with many other artists/albums I love. If I had to guess, I’m sure the same largely applies to yourself, and perhaps 10kDays was more “important” for you, and that influences what you prefer. Either way, this isn’t really that important to me, certainly not a hill I’m gonna die on, and you go right on ahead and prefer whatever you think is best. Believe it or not, I know people who think the Opiate EP is their best album, as odd as that is! Anyway, I digress.. Sorry for the essay, have a good’n!✌️
Nikola Demitri I liked FI but if I had to rank every album I’d have to say Lateralus, 10,000 Days, Aenima, Fear Innoculum, Undertow, Opiate EP. Lateralus and 10,000 Days were the albums that got me into them
That was the most pleasant metal I’ve heard. It’s hard to make the sitar sound metal. I felt like I need to be dancing in a flower dress twirling around with two beers in my hands in a field full of flowers with the sun shining on my face.
Everytime I watch this video and listen to the sound of Sitar blended with such heavy music, I feel proud. Proud of having the access to SITAR METAL. My goodness. Man in a country like India, it takes courage and rich amount of blood and sweat to experiment something like this and taking it to this level!!! Music like this may or may not be mainstream in future, but whoever gets hit hard by this freaking piece of extraordinary art can immediately sense this in their veins, body and chest. This is energy. So powerful. A splendid fucking experience. For you, Sitar Metal ladies and gentlemen.
Took them long enough to reccommend this to me. Check out an indi band called Mynta (not completely sure about spelling) the song I remember right now is "Tea Break" or something like that.
You know something is gonna be good when you see someone using a traditional of their people in something you wouldn’t think it would be in. I never thought of Sitar metal being a thing til I just witnessed it
Add a classical raag vocalist and you guys will be able to create even more incredible masterpieces just like this! A fan of metal and classical music from Pakistan, sending peace and love towards this amazing band!
This is the best sitter metal video i heard... I found this video before 5 year ago and steel i am listening today also it is hard to anyone replace them. Last part is so emotional they put fillings very properly in music.
Just found you guys and I am speechless. This is precious metal forged between strongest and mightiest hammer and anvil by master craftsmen! Thank you very much!
I work as a masseuse and I apply the principles of Ayurveda to my work, in the background I play relaxing Indian music with bansuri flute or sitar, but outside the work environment I listen to Jinjer, Tool, Russian Circles and much more. You have just given me coherence between my two extreme sides. thanks from Italy
Literally had goosebumps while watching your work. Indians are always known for taking things to the next level. Believe it or not. From the first time I have watched this video until the hour is over it's literally on repeat more than 10 times. Keep up the amazing work guys. Lots of love from Syria ✌ you guys deserves ☝️👇 Like Subscribe Share
@Ultimate Game Yeah, well. I'm an atheist too, but there's literally millions of deities in Hindu religion. So if anyone has the biggest chance of probability for being right about a god, it's them. 😂
@Ultimate Game Well, I'll be... I was indeed just regurgitating something I heard somewhere, sometime, now that you critisize it. I believe the number was something about 3 million deities where I got it from. Setting me straight on a false fact is very much appreciated. I'll check it out after work. 👍
@Ultimate Game No problem, we're good. I like learning new things. Being proven wrong is learning new things, so it's all fine. But what do you mean with you were dehumanized? Can you give an example?
We would love to thank Rishabh for coming up with this thought and forming Sitar Metal on 2015, years back. The idea is manifested now , Thank you for watching!
I'm absolutely speechless. The knowledge of music is at its peak. I thought this to be a kind of Oriental Metal stuff. How wrong I was. I am just getting bewildered on the thought of the immense talent of the musicians for introducing such a kind of fusion. Wish you all the best.❤️
This has got to be one of the most far-out things I've seen/heard in ages. A perfect fusion of 2 polar opposites in musical styles...I am utterly blown away. The only other time something close to this has occurred was in 1969, when the "Krishna-rock" band called QUINTESSENCE was formed. (Check out their 2nd eponymously-titled album, and listen to the track "Sea of Immortality.") This song and video just knocks me out...I wonder what Ravi would think???
This is absolutely awesome. Traditional instruments still belong in modern music, maybe now more than ever because of how homogenized the sound of popular music has become.
Never heard of sitar before and was recommended by Bryan Beller in his IG page. Not that I always seek and listen for his recommendations but I'm so glad I did for this one. A true eye-opener and one of the best metal fusions I've heard in a while. You guys deserve to be recognised.
Love how they stick to Indian scales to and make their metal sound more eastern with an identity unlike many Indian metal acts.. who is just generic metal core with Hindi over it
Great job, guys. What a music and sound! Mindblowing. I haven't heard so much feeling and invention in music for ages. Keep on playing, please. Greetings from the heart of Europe, from the Czech Republic. Thank you.
This was a mind-blowing experience. Did not freaking know that a sitar could blend so well the genre. Seriously amazing, waiting for the rest of the album.
