The force is neither good or bad or a god with a sole predetermined agenda but it sure is "free flowing" and it doesn't like to be tipped to much in either direction, when it comes to the personal interaction it somewhat reflects the way you treat it from my understanding and if you break and contort it to your will it must eventually do this to you not because it has a will of its own but because it mirrors your intent, you can see this with almost every sith that lifes to a high age how frail there bodys become over time how poisonous and incredibly taxing it is to use the force in this albeit powerful way. Realtalk the grey jedi understood what the force is perfectly and that a major disbalance in things leads to a stark opposite happening, the force is always correcting itself no matter which ideology tries to wield it, that's why greys don't get clouded in their judgement they listen without shunning a path, tapping into the full spectrum of the force with all its aspects trying to determine its current flow as unbiased as possible. (which is the true challenge in my opinion, seing if the force has a "heartbeat of its own" and is not just a reflection of a dogma and the wielders view on what it should be)

Exactly - its about the Shadow work and its integration. But when u integrate your Shadow, u arent supposed to identify with it and deny your Light, but to be consciously aware of how far your darkness goes and still be a righteous person. The Self in SW terms is the individuated person who has mastered the Force on a fundamental level, has a deep and profound understanding of it, and is still in full control of their actions. You misunderstand. The Jedi & Sith dichotomy is a fictional allegory for the real life Right Hand Path & Left Hand Path dichotomy in spirituality. Both seek to transcend the physical world and become one with the Force; its their methods that are the only difference between the two. The Jedi believe that by abstaining from sensation & material desire, they can transcend the physical. The Sith believe that by passionately indulging in intense sensation & physical desire, they can transcend the physical. Its like the difference between a Buddhist Monk & an Indian Aghori; the monk believes they can become enlightened by retreating from humanity & desire. The Aghori believes they can become enlightened by eating human flesh & meditating on top of corpses. Both seek to transcend the physical world; the only difference is one chooses to abstain, and the other chooses to indulge in severity (both pleasure and pain).

@@atazoth_rising It’s not so much a misunderstanding as it is making a conscious choice to observe how the Sith and Jedi set out to achieve their goals, then make a value based judgement on how functional their approaches seem to be based on whether they reach their aim or experience contentedness with the outcome.

@guapocat203 it's definitely a misunderstanding. And what are the values this judgement is based off of? And according to who? From a traditionally Pagan & Nietzchean perspective, the Sith are far more successful because they usually die in battle, and dying in battle (from these perspectives) is the only honorable way to die. Value based judgements such as the one asserted here are relative, and are based on relative opinion/culture. What I'm trying to assert is that this OP comment is wrong in saying the Sith aren't aiming for transcendence, which I argued they actually are.
