In this Sitka Kelvin Aerolight Jacket review, we are taking a look at the Kelvin Aerolight jacket, which replaced the Sitka Kelvin Light jacket that has been so widely popular over the years. Hey! Thanks for an awesome review. So I’m between this jacket and the first lite uncompaghre 2.0. I believe you have experience with both jackets. Which one would you give the nod to? Is the aerolite warmer than the Unc 2.0?

Hey there Colin! Yeah, I've got some experience with both of them. They are close in warmth, but I feel like the Uncompahgre is a bit warmer. On the other hand, the Areolight is going to be much better if it gets wet. Both great jackets. Thanks for watching!

Hey Gabe, is the Kelvin lite Down jacket considerably warmer than the aerolite? I’m trying to decide between the two. Thanks.

Hey there Collin! Yes, the Kelvin Light Down is quite a bit warmer than the Aerolite IMO. The Areolight is synthetic and way better in wet weather while the Kelvin Light Down is warmer for the weight and obviously down. They fit totally different too. Areolight isn't as fitted. Does that help?

@@colinfarrell3377 oh man...that's tough, but I'd probably have to go with the Aerolite because it's overall more versatile, a lot quieter and can be used during archery season (I do a lot of archery hunting). Plus, you can always add layers to bring it up to the warmth of the Kelvin Light Down.

Do you think it would be possible to use this as a mid layer piece for whitetail but also be a multi use for our west? Would be using between fanatic hoody and stratus jacket. Worried about sound

Do you think is ok for any movement or only static use? The fabric is super wind resistant not 100% windproof so I guess it should breath some. And the interior side panel are different even more airflow into the insulation.

Would this be a warm enough jacket for late October western rifle hunts?

Hey there! Yeah, I use this as an insulation layer in Oct unless it's going to be very cold. But, Oct can be wildly different from year to year, and even week to week out west! It won't be warm enough to use as a sitting piece for anything much below 30 degrees. But...you can always add layers under it to expand its use. Thanks for watching!
