I’m glad you made this break down. I bought all other stuff the year prior from other brands but never got something to stop wind so I’m gonna get this jacket. The only layer that really matters to the deer is the one on top so yeah I like the honesty of it not mattering if the only piece of expensive gear is the Stratus Jacket.
Our farm with lowland marsh I’ve realized my waterfowl camo blends in better deer hunting than the whitetail line. Dakota jacket for duck and deer for me and once the temps dip I run the fanatic vest over it. Gradient inside my waders and whitetail bibs, fanatic gloves, Hudson hat. Works for deer ducks and turkey. I did skimp and get the huntworth hoodie with grid fleece and built in hood and face mask and pleasantly surprised with it as a under piece. Drastically cut down on my clothes own to hunt.
I never had the Celsius jacket, only the Shacket, but this Midi became my sidekick this year. I just keep it in a stuff sack in my pack, always ready. Thanks for watching.
Good review. The only thing I would have added was showing you with it on and possibly layered. Personally, I wear a size Large. You're a bit thinner and slightly taller than me so I'm surprised you went with XL. I'm 6'-0" | 220 lbs and I originally ordered my Sitka gear in size XL and it was definitely too big and baggy for my taste. I want Archery hunting gear to be more form fitting and the size Large fits me like a glove. I am able to wear heavy merino base layers with fanatic hoody underneath and have full range of motion without any article being 'tight'. Thought this might help someone else out there watching this video.
