Q7: C must be the correct answer.. how should I do something to the correct standards if I do it for the first time? Some guidance is required to meet the standards, don't you think?
Question 6, my answer is D however I’ve had managers who are such sticklers about overtime that option B isn’t out of the question. Question 7 I’d probably choose C even though A is a fantastic answer as well
It would be so helpful if the correct answers reasoning could be made available. Ive done tests before and when there are several justifiable answers, the thought processes for selecting the correct one would be amazing to study.
When I did my SJT I was given 30 questions in 20 minutes about climate change, robotics, political things, how a microwave works. Completely caught me off guard and I failed.
Great video, and great question lineups. But scrolling & scrolling to search for your answers on the comments section is frustrating. Please have a link for the answers or just answer the said questions after the 10 seconds window. Thank you for sharing your brilliance.
Thank you Richard. Your tips helped me immensely in my preparation! I really appreciate your effort in creating this free content for test takers. Keep it up :)
Just want to share, previously I worked at one of this company. Then based on question 2, its really suit my situation on that time. Which I facing the situation from A and D. Its really hard as a newcomers to deal with it. After 2 months, I quit due to stress. I hope for those that answer this test, don’t just answer the correct answer but I hope you’ll apply it in the company you work.
The examples are helpful, but would be better to have an explanation in the video for all of the examples instead of having to search for the answers to check in the comments below...or list the answers and explanations in a comment that is easily findable to verify. Thanks.
Q6 - I would say C, but I have a feeling you might say B - my thinking is there might be hygiene issues/special equipment required, but I would empty an overflowing bin and clean a visibly dirty desk. My problem is I overthink and struggle to just answer ABCD. Look forward to your feedback.
Thanks for all you do boss. I have followed your lessons and passed verbal and numerical tests. I’m back here for the next stage which is judge mental test. I am commenting before even listening. You are the best.
Question 2) I'm inclined to say B, but feel this might be wrong. I find it hard because there are so many unsaid variable - my project is important, but how urgent, how much time do I have, what is their task and how urgent important is it, second choice I'm torn between C and D, but definitly not A (Nikki, using my husband's profile).
thank you for your content. would you mind giving me some advice about when we ask our manager / supervisor to be in touch with the situation or when to tell our manager / supervisor ? like question no 10 and no 15. Thank you
@@charlesisoje3779 Just a question: Why would 15 be A calling the customer dishonest seems confrontational. Not to say the customer is always right, because they aren't but A doesn't make sense as an answer.
A majority of answers for Q7 seems to be C, which is what i thought too, but you say that the answer is A. Can you clarify why this is please? Asking a manager for guidance for a task they have set you that you haven't done before seems like the correct action.
One concern I have about volunteering to work when a colleague is out is that this could expose you to exploitation - which happens more often than we want to admit.....what would you advise?
Thank you for your answers. All correct apart from Q10. Would you like to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss out on any new content? Your support will be highly appreciated!😊

I'm wondering a couple of things 1. If you have to choose between getting important work done slower/helping a co-worker; what do you choose? 2. Should I step up and say I want to do everything myself first, or should you always get a manager involved first
One thing I would say about these questions is that they are open to interpretation. Nevertheless, my answers and rationale are below: Q1) C: You are assuming the behaviour is abusive, so stepping in would at worst allow clarification if it is 'banter' (which might not need to be reported to your manager) and best case scenario, might prevent further abuse and would show support to your colleague. If the behaviour was abusive, it can later be reported. Q2) D: You are unable to 'drop' what you are doing, but you are willing to offer support when you are able to. It would also be best to talk to your supervisor to determine if you can help, as they may not want you to help, or they may wish you to prioritise this task. Q3) B: I do not always feel the answers capture an 'ideal' response and they are in a sense like leading questions. Some organisations will not favour passing on complaints to supervisors, as this can add to the workload. However, in an ideal organisation you would pass on such complaints to a supervisor, depending upon the nature of the complaint and whether this is something you have the authority to handle directly. As the latter information is not provided, I would say D is probably a better option for question 2 after reconsidering. The response is not ideal, as I would also try to be understanding, listen to the customer and understand their issue and then form a judgement as to whether I have the authority to handle the complaint. I would suggest that the liklihood of a customer being this angry is low and therefore it is worth passing the complaint to your supervisor, as we do not know the context or severity and therefore it is best to be cautious. Q4) C: You want somebody proactive and helpful in the team. Q5) C: This may be an oversight on the cleaner's part or there may have been an issue they had to deal with that caused them a delay. It will not be necessary to inform your supervisor unless this is a repeat occurence. There may still be a good reason if this incident does reoccur. Q6) B: There may be another worker who can cover or you may have to work a little longer, depending upon your personal circumstances. Q7) A: This shows the most initiative in my view, assuming you have the resources available and time to teach yourself. This is not an outlandish assumption, as many employers will have standard operating procedures or processes you can follow and you can ask if you get stuck. Q8) B: I would suggest they already know this, but it is worth reminding them that they are likely to face a disciplinary in the best-case scenario if found out. Q9) A: There may be circumstances explaining your colleague's behaviour e.g., a recent bereavement. This may be sufficient in some instances and show the most tact. Q10) C: There may be an agreement that your colleague has to which you are not privy e.g., they may require this equipment to work from home. You should not assume the worst. Q11) C: It is worth weighing up this option, and it shows the most leadership skills in my view. Q12) A: There is a potential training issue here. Also, you may have misinterpreted the conversation, you can only hear one side and without the full context, you cannot make a proper assessment of the situation. Q13) B: The customer needs to be made aware of their breach of policy, but they still need continued access to services. Nevertheless, they need to be reminded that this goes against company policy and this response may actually lead to further custom. Q14) B: You need the customer to have access to all of the information to allow them to make an informed decision. Some of your assumptions about their requirements may be incorrect and they may have use for the additional functionality. The decision is therefore in the customer's hands. Q15) C: Just because you didn't find a fault, it doesn't mean there isn't one. A further assessment may be needed to determine whether the product is faulty and therefore the issue needs to be escalated.

Q2 D Q3 B Q5 B Q6 D Q7 C Q9 A Q10 D Q11 C Q12 C Q14 B Q15 B Currently practising for SHL SJT, and the practice test allows you to pick more than one option and just mark the options provided as "appropriate" or "inappropriate". In this case, can we have more than one answer, or should we stick to the most correct option?

D, B. The second one was harder. I do not always feel the answers capture an 'ideal' response and they are in a sense like leading questions. I got everyone correct apart from no.7. To me, I would ask on how to do a job properly and then do it rather than leaving it to my own devices and getting it all wrong. But, apparently, the answer is 7A.

This is a great video but the issue is I am choosing ‘counter productive’ or ‘very effective’ etc and I am still scoring low. In the tests is there always an option for one of them? For example can I choose more than one counter productive?
Hi Richard I am going to do my SJT soon for Southeastern. They use the OPC testing, which I think is quite hard. I am very nervous and really want to do well. I hope I pass. I have done a lot of practice questions and I am a past student on your how to become course. I applied for Southern Rail 5 years ago and passed all assessments at Go ahead house. All due to your support package. Thank you. However, I messed up my interview with 1 question. 🤦♀️ My name is on a database for 5 years. Will I need to do all the tests again with Southeastern ? Thanks for all the information you give on helping us to pass our tests. It’s much appreciated. Regards Karen

My main problem is how they structure the questions in the test I want to do. They frame the scenarios and put a single response and then put options like: ineffective, effective or counterproductive as the options. I have failed series of their examples

I feel like the first question should be D. not C. because your putting yourself in a situation where the abuser will focus on you or give you problems. I would tell the manager or HR what I saw or overheard possible even writing the incident down. let the manager handle it and give a general speech in front of the workers that to be mindful and what you say people are listening. I mean maybe I am wrong but if i was the manager of course I would step in but as a regular worker I wouldn't step in.
