Instructor: Alex Ciuhandu
Pilot: Andrei Buldus
This is the first SIV I ever participated in, and I couldn't have asked for a better instructor than Alex Ciuhandu. When you hear him talking, and the trust he has in his voice in critical situations, makes you belive that you can do anything.
I had 3 very difficult days, as I had to practically do two SIV stages in one, one with my Triple Seven Rook3 (EN-B), on the first day to get used to basic manouvers, and doing day 2 and 3 with the wing I love the most, the: #omegaULS from #advanceparagliders (EN-D).
I already loved this wing before the SIV, but to be honest, after coming back from this experience, I think I will never want to fly another wing in my life :))))) It's just perfect!
A few of the manouvers that were performed include, but are not limited to:
- Asymmetric tucks
- Frontal colapse
- Deep spiral with quick exit
- Spins
- Stalls
- Backflight
- Big ears
and more....
Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy the Omega as much as I do :D

To be honest Benoit is my spirit animal 😅 I absolutelly loved having him on take-off. His relaxed way of beeing is contagious :D Mona is a wizard with that camera to be honest. I can't imagine having myself tracking us bafoons in the air 😂

Good progress. After the stall I also had always the problems that the ears were hanging in the lines. For clearing the cravate is maybe the stall spin on one side better - my opionion.
@AndreiPGPilot
@AndreiPGPilot 16 дней назад
Yeah seemed so. We went from pumping the cravates out, to spin stalling to the cravate side, which worked much better :)

@AndreiPGPilot maybe you've seen the video of what happened to me last week... if it were for an SIV before, I wouldn't have had to throw the rescue

@@CristiUrsu I actually saw it and talked about it with my friends :( the corect reaction would have been the one seen in the first few exercises :( It really helps you as a pilot 100%!

Nice! Looked like a lot of fun. On the rapid exit with the frontal on the Rook, you didn't run out of brake travel. Have a look again what happens - there are 2 other reasons it frontals.
@AndreiPGPilot
@AndreiPGPilot 21 день назад
@@7up-weee well, let's see: I didn't pull enough break for one... my hands were above the main carabiners and the second one must be the fact that I didn't keep contact with the brakes and let them go to fast mayve? 😅 thanks for the heads up and for the time you took to leave a comment 🤗 Much apreciated :)

@@7up-weee it was tons of fun :) can't wait for next year's full stalls and wingovers :)
@7up-weee
@7up-weee 21 день назад
@@AndreiPGPilot Yeah - you can't access the full brake range if your hands are in front of the Carabiners. If they are in a line with the risers and the carabiners you can put your hands down below your bum and you get a lot more travel - at least 30 or 40 centimetres extra. The second one is your hands go up before the wing has stopped moving forward. If you keep your hands down until the moment the wing stops, it won't frontal. The instant it stops, put your hands up.

So inform me. On the 4:30 mark after the dive what was the correct way to handle that to not have a frontal? I thought you have to stab the brakes and catch the dive? I see your hands go down to do so. So what went wrong or what could be done different? Thanks!
@AndreiPGPilot
@AndreiPGPilot 16 дней назад
The way I handled the dive was almost perfect, except for the fact that my hands only went down as low as my main carabiners. I should have punched the brakes straight down, giving me much more brake travel and thus more power to stop the wing :) My hands didn't go low enough, the wing just kept going beyond it's critical angle, and bam! :D

@@AndreiPGPilot Hi, I would add that you released the brake too soon as well. Maybe, the input was enough, but the release was too soon, the pendulum movement was still on the wing side, you have to wait for your weight to be charging the wing again to release the brake input. Regards, An other guy doing SIV with Alex ;-)
