Hmmm makes me think for sure. I think the 'more natural' aspect comes from the fact that 'Haunted' was very straightforward, a lot of it was made from riffs Allen had already and then he approached Chris (at least that's my recollection) but this album for me always felt like 'The Bleeding' in that it was very experimental, even down to the packaging - the neon green case was sick! And also, let's face it - this is their stoner album lol for sure Chris wanted to let his inner stoner out some here. I love 'Haunted', it is still prolly my fav SFU album, but this one hits it's own nerve so to speak...a very baked-out, happily headbanging nerve 😁@@Diggah1000

The album cover reminds me of the Grateful Dead symbol, which I saw years later on a poster when I was in high school. SFU Was my first metal band I survived since haunted because I remembered by around the same time in 1995 suffocation pierced from within with stuck with me a lot longer, but I met six feet under and Suffocation which I’ll never forget

I bought this album in the first week of it's release and I didn't like it. After listening to it again after years, I figured it would have grown on me but no, it still isn't up to par with Haunted. Revenge of the Zombie is probably the only track on this album that I care for...just my opinion. Now their debut album is an absolute fucking gem.

I don't know why I'm still torturing myself with this band. I tried to like them. They are death metal without all the things that made death metal great. Vocals sound rough and tired, mix sounds like a demo, every riff would fit into the same song if you mixed and matched them. No cool drumming, no good riffs, solos are good though. This album in particular varies from skate punk on half speed to "grandpa's at it again." 2/10

The only half decent thing here is Allen West's riffs, and he did much better versions of these riffs in Obituary anyway. This album has that same sound that World Demise and Back from the Dead had, except the riffs were better on those. At least with those albums you get Tardy's awesome vocals as well.
