What does the renewal mean for the prestige pass? I have the 2024 dimond pass and I want to get the 2025 six flags presige pass what does it mean for renewal like would I get a discount orrrrr
I noticed that too. It’s gone down from $350 to $199. This was when I tried both renewal or new pass. I’m going to wait because I imagine the link isn’t correct for the renewal. It should be less than the $199.
I applaud your effort in explaining this, and I’m honestly still unclear. I’ll probably have to do my own research, but yes it sucks that my old legacy pass included all six flags and this doesn’t, it’s more complicated but I’m sure is workable
They need to continue to have a pass for those who just go to six flags parks and not the newly added ones. Paying what Ive been paying for diamond now will get me basically nothing with this new setup. SFGA home park
Ya I think that's not an option now, maybe only all-park passport going forward, they might do some regional thing later, like a prestige plus pass that gets you everything in that region.
It’s crazy how expensive they’re making it. I got a six flags diamond pass for all their 16 parks for around $150 in 2024. The same pass but for 11 more parks now runs me over $500??! Not even twice the parks but over 3x the price?? Rip off!
I’m probably going to get a Carowinds gold pass ($90) and the all park passport ($90). The prestige pass was what made it so much more expensive; the gold pass is much less expensive at a lot of the parks
Ya it’s the prestige pass that’s making it expensive. Idkw it’s that much but if u buy the gold pass and add the all park passport it seems to be running around $180 give or take depending on the park. I think it’s a pretty good deal actually
@@ericfordman7694 Do you know if know if you have activate it at the home park? Or does it make more sense to choose the cheapest park in the chain because the gold home park perks are pretty minimal if anything. They never differentiate which perks are home park only.
My home park has the Prestige Pass on sale for $99, move on to their absurd "All Park Passport" and they slap you with an extra $225. What the in the actual f*** is going on!? (Sorry for the language, I'm really pissed!) This is preposterous! I bought my 2024 Diamond Pass for $100 with free access to ALL Six Flags parks! Now I have to pay $350+ per pass just to have the option to visit all parks! Are they INSANE!??? Some of us have families. I'm not spending $1000+ to take my family to Six Flags, I'm sorry! I didn't ask for this merger. I guess we won't be able to visit these parks anymore! 🤦🏼♂️
Probably buy the pass from a different park. I’m probably getting mine from Carowinds which is $90 plus $90 for the passport. Also, I just travel with a party of 2 most of the time, so I’m not in your exact situation, but 200+ for the passport is definitely unacceptable!
$99 is okay, but I don't think it's fair that one should have to pay $225 more for a perk that was included before. The likelihood that I will visit most of the other parks is very low. But I still want to have that option. I could have deemed it fair to pay an extra $50-$80 since the number of parks has doubled, but $225 is INSANE. Six Flags has become greedy and alienating.
The idea is that if you want all parks, it will be around the same price no matter which park you buy it from. Otherwise, you’d get everyone buying their passes at the cheapest park even if it’s nowhere near where they live
@@brucewayne1894 the extra $225 is only on the prestige pass. If all you care about is access to all the parks then you buy the gold pass and get the all park add on with that and the total for the pass would be around $180-200 depending on the park. So it is more like an $80 price increase if you bought the diamond pass for $100 last year. Somewhat unfortunate if you only visit sixflags parks, however for me it is about $100 cheaper than last year since I now don't have to maintain passes to both chains.
Thanks for trying to sort all of that out! Wow - what a confusing 'mess' to say the least! My thought process - is that it will take probably until pass year 2026 to get everything integrated to be close to the 'same' across the whole 'new' Six Flags chain. Like you said - the dining and flash pass / fast lane is very different between both 'legacy' chains - so, this will take a while for Six Flags to integrate I am sure! My other 'gut' feeling is that I am probably quite sure that the Prestige Pass purchased at Great Adventure will have 'preferred parking' at Great Adventure - that was probably a misprint on the site (but, I could be wrong). Going off of the Legacy Cedar Fair Prestige - that does offer preferred parking at the legacy park purchased, and I think, the all park upgrade to Legacy Cedar Fair Prestige also grants preferred parking to all of the Cedar Fair parks - (at least that is what I thought I read - again - I could be wrong). What I found interesting - is when I did the Gold Pass renewal for Kings Dominion - (renewal was $89 - non renewal is $95) - I wasn't given the option to renew with an 'upgrade' to Prestige, which I found strange. (If I decide to do that - I can probably 'upgrade' to Prestige somehow). And the All Park upgrade to my Gold 2025 renewal was also $89). So - for Kings Dominion at least - Gold Renewal WITH the All Park Upgrade was $178. So - since Kings Dominion is my 'home park', I will probably end up canceling my Six Flags Plus membership - and just stick with the All Park upgrade to my Gold Kings Dominion 2025 pass. At least I will still get admission and general parking to the legacy Six Flags parks. So - yep - confusing! LOL :) Thanks again for all of the information in your video - good work sorting it all out!
This really seems to aim to screw non legacy members (im sure our time as members is coming too). up till this year you could get a pass for around 100 (or under) that got you into all legacy six flags parks and allowed you to use most of your benefits at all the parks too. In my position specifically im about 45 mins from great escape, a bit over an hourfrom sfne, and about 3.5 hours from GA. Its super unfortunate that now youd have to buy the all parks add on for 99+ just to access those 3 parks. Then they went and doubled down by limiting the perks only to your home park. From my end it seems to be a really odd bit of marketing. I wouldnt think most people with passes visit that many parks in a given year. sems like a pretty major price increase foteh person that still wants to go to the 2 or 3 prks near them and might hit a cedar legacy park every year or 2.
I have the platinum pass which included all six flags preferred parking a season pass drink cup and 20% off purchases. It is all downgraded and more money for less. Now they want no drink cup general parking and 15% off purchases and only home park. Better to keep current pass for the year which includes fright fest get the gold and wait till next year for fright fest.
Dude! You just saved me $1200!!! I almost bought $95 Prestige for my local park (Darien Lake) plus $395 all park add on for my whole family (4 people) now i am going to keep my current Diamond passes and buy 2025 Six Flags New England Prestige passes with the all park add on ($110+215)
TBH I'm probably going to get the Gold pass for Six Flags Great America for next year. I don't get there at rope drop so the VIP line and preferred parking don't matter to me. Plus Great America's parking lot is quite walkable and I don't mind that. I will purchase the 2025 all season drink bottle on my first visit next year.
Something I’ve learned in life is that I’ll analyze a complex issue like these new passes and try to crack the code, but really there isn’t one. They just haven’t organized it properly yet.
One thing you missed is that pass products & add ons are not offering the monthly payment plans, like Cedar Fair legacy parks. Just was made aware of this by a friend when they wanted to buy Sf legacy passes for their family. To get a payment structure you have to buy the gold or prestige membership, which cost more. for example, Gold pass at the lower tier parks is $55 to $59, meanwhile a gold membership is 5.99/month with a non refundable $20 initiation fee. So for 12 months with a membership it's $72 + $20 fee, total $92. A gold pass is $55 to $59 and since it's good for rest of 2024 you're actually getting 16 months of access vs 12 for the membership. 16 months for the membership would be 4 more months of payments making the total $116. Also, if you get the new membership products you are charged an initiation fee for add ons...Flash pass is $60 and $30 for meal plans.
I wish that they already had this pass available for 2024 because I visited Valleyfair, Schlitterbahn (New Braunfels to be exact), Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Michigan's Adventure, Cedar Point, Cedar Point Shores, Six Flags Great America, Knott's Berry Farm, Knott's Soak City, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Valencia this season. Talk about a steal.
Fair warning though, there's a good chance you may not be able to use your pass at other parks until you use it to gain entry at the park you buy it from. (i.e. If you buy a pass from Six Flags Magic Mountain, you can't use it at Fix Flags Great America unless you go to Magic Mountain first) Last year my sister bought season tickets for her kids from her local Six Flags park and when we tried getting into Great America they couldn't get in. They told us it was because you have to use the pass at your home park before you can use it at another park. Whether that changed since the merger, idk, but i can see why it would work that way since the parks all offer different prices
One thing I notice. My Home park is SF Darien Lake. If I get the season pass their with all park passport. I have to pay everything upfront as a one time payment. If I do the season pass at Cedar Point. They'll I get the passes cheaper plus am able to make monthly payment on everything across 10 months.
Yes but here the issue. My park is $99 for prestige. At 11.99 x 12 the price comes out to $143.88. Further add to insult. You can't monthly pay add on like the all park pass or meal plan. It's a pay on the spot then you may for the monthly membership. So I either pay monthly and get no savings, or pay in one go for a family of three. Nice that they lower the price since my last post, but no option to get the sale price on monthly payment still not great. I think the option was call flex pay?
I watched your video and was in the website at the same time so I may have missed you covering these things. I can’t believe preferred parking is gone and a drink cup isn’t included.m with the “black” level next year. Food & merchandise discounts were reduced, too.
Cedar Fair never included drinks with passes, SF by doing it was missing out of 10's of millions in easy revenue. At one point at their height SF had over 8 Million passholders/members. If even 25%( low penetration rate) bught drink bottles at $30, that's 60M.
Maybe I will. Maybe i won't point is i already bought a 2024 pass. I am purchasing a 2025 pass. It should not end in August or September 2025. It should be good the whole year.t@collinparsons3363
@@jason7450 The parks have varying season lengths and some are open year round or nearly year round. So the question is where do you set the pass changeover date. That was kind of forgotten about when everyone was on memberships which never expire. Maybe it should be done after holiday in the park, or after fright fest, or after labor day. Whatever it is, they need to pick a date and stick with it.
If you go thru all the SF legacy parks the Gold + passport all come out to between $180 and $189(before fees/taxes), Cedar Fair legacy parks are also the same concept, priced so Gold + passport come out to $184 to $190(before fees/taxes). Some parks will have cheaper gold and more costly passport, some higher gold and cheaper passport.
Does anyone know if the All Park Passport for Great Adventure will include access to Dorney Park? The pass for Dorney shows that will allow access to Great Adventure, but have not seen the reverse yet to confirm access to Dorney with Great Adventure pass.
Yes. As stated in the video, the all-park passport grants access to ALL Six Flags (legacy six flags & cedar fair) parks. Legacy Cedar Fair park access for that pass will begin on January 6th, 2025!
Im sticking with what i have know diamond and flash pass ultimate if possible its like 150 a month for just jackson great adventure is that still available and then if i ever visit another park i will just pay for the day ticket plus the flash pass
Thank you for this information. I have a diamond pass and just wondering how to renew it. Me and my friend were about to have to do separate season passes because of that $350 upcharge means my friend had to get it at Dorney and me Six Flags. See my pass becomes legacy makes me very happy.
Happy to help, you cannot renew a Diamond Pass. As shown in the video, your two options are now either Gold or Prestige (unless you have a legacy membership and continue to pay for it)
@@ColiwoodStudios Thank You. Yes they just lowered the prices. $199 for Great Adventure and $215 for New England. Renewals just have processing fee whereas brand new passes add on taxes. Should I renew at New England (where I bought my pass from last year) or brand new from Great Adventure (me and my friend visit more often and considering to make it our home park)? The final total for both excluding taxes is $3 more to buy new.
Thank you, this helps. I was wondering how I would get dining and drink plans at the Legacy Six Flags parks. I will just keep my legacy diamond membership and get a Kings Dominion Gold pass with All Parks Passport with Dining and drink plan add on.
Thx. - the $350 add on for the all park seems crazy expensive vs prior year diamond pass. Do you think it makes sense to wait to renew? Eg Black Friday sale, etc. - did you find any other six flags parks with the $350 price add on
@@ColiwoodStudiosok that's a load of baloney why dont they just make the all park passport like 200 or 225 dollars it would be a good mid point between the SF and CF prices and this does kinda suck since six flags actually has more parks
No new passes will include drinks, only those that have legacy membership products with the drink benefit will have them automatically included. This was expected. Cedar fair never gave away drinks and Sf by doing so was missing out on many 10's of millions of revenue annually.
@@MoodyCaffeineAddict Legacy drinks still exist, just they aren't having the special red one's. Members will just get a voucher for a free a drink cup. Every new pass will be paying the $35 for a cup.
Well I have a legacy Diamond Elite Membership for Six Flags (had it since 2018). I'll have to weight my options. The closest Legacy Cedar Fair parks for me are King's Dominion (2 hours away) and Dorney Park (2 hours 45 minutes away).
it's only varying by park for the benefits by park, which includes meal plans, I've did spoke with guest relations at both Knotts and Magic Mountain and they've confirmed that it will meal plans and benefits will work at each park. Not all of the benefits will work at each park, and fright fest extreme admission is per visit
So I’m pretty confused despite your good explanations… I have a Diamond Membership at SF Over Georgia. I can renew that as a legacy member then pay an additional $99 and get access to all SF and CF parks?
If you have a Legacy Diamond Membership (sold pre-Selim), as long as you keep paying for it, it will continue to be valid. If you want to access Legacy Cedar Fair Parks with it, you’ll pay the $99 for the All Park Passport add-on to your membership.
@@RedPilledDan No, the new diamond passes don't get all the six flags parks anymore. It seems like only a "Legacy Diamond", before ~Jan 2022 will still get all legacy six flags parks.
thanks again for video...hey you may want to recheck the website...it looks like they changed the price from the $350 add-on to $199..if i am reading this correctly..
They sure did! I saw a post from the SF Great America Junkie FB page about it this morning and I checked Great Adventure’s site and indeed the Prestige all park add-on price is $199 right now. Now I need to check the Gold option.
@@markg.9981 yeah, the preferred parking bit I don’t understand. I guess we aren’t getting that as Prestige. The drink bottle plan will come it will just be like Cedar’s and be separate from the pass. I get it. The drink bottle is not something I need ( I just drink water anyway and bring my own bottle). Not sure if I’m sold on the Prestige, the one skip the line every visit is the only thing enticing me to upgrade. I may just get the Gold.
my home park is SFNE and despite that long walk from the parking lot, its really not worth spending the extra 250-300 to get preferred and one line skip a visit. I will have the price of general parking included at all parks across the new chain, which makes it worth it already to me. Also, that extra 250 I saved can go to the national dining plan(which would still seem worth it even if it is only at legacy SF parks). Am I missing something, or is gold+passport not the obvious choice?
I am just a little disappointed on how they are handling the food pass part as they told me i had to buy another pass to access the food from either six flags or cedar fair.
To the people complaining about claiming its more expensive to visit "all" the parks now I have a question: were you legitimately visiting over 40 parks to begin with, much less only 5 or less? If not, I fail to see the complaining.
My plan is to just get a Dorney gold pass with all parks and then buy the all season six flags dining and drink plan. Gonna be expensive no matter what
Very odd, I've picked many random six flags and the Prestige says preferred parking. I'm wondering if the great adventure one is a mistake saying general like you thought is possible.
My home park is Six Flags St. Louis, and as far as I can tell, the *only* benefits to a Prestige vs Gold pass are preferred parking and 15% discount vs 10! At almost twice the cost Prestige makes no sense! Am I missing something?
Hey! At 10:49 you clicked something to bring up that dialogue box where you enter your pass number. What did you click exactly? I can't find it on the site for my life. Thanks!
I just tried exactly what you showed in the video for Six Flags New England. The passport is $350. Not the cheap price shown in your video. Not sure if it was incorrect and they fixed it or I did something wrong.
The passport differs in price for the Gold Pass vs. Prestige Pass at the Legacy Six Flags Parks. With that add-on price, I’m assuming you were adding it onto a Prestige Pass?
Do you know why the all park passport add on for a gold pass is only 110, but then to add it on to the already more expensive prestige pass is 200? What are the advantages even to get the prestige pass at this point?
Guys for great adventure if you buy the gold, you will have access to fright fest on select days this video is slightly outdated due to six flags having odd deals
I'm wondering either of the legacy chain's all-park passports require you activate your pass at your homeport? Before Six Flags did and Cedar Fair didn't. Now with the all-park passport being a required add-on for both, maybe both don't.
I am so close to not even renewing 😒 I live in Texas with only a 4 hour access to Fiesta Texas, Over Texas, their water parks and the Schlitterbahn’s- $324 for the prestige pass with the passport seems like a massive scam, incredibly infuriating I have to pay $180 for gold pass with the passport to access both of the Texas parks when $120 in 2024 took care of that and I had the VIP benefits and the cup to boot. In my situation it’s either Gold with the passport for $180 as the way to go or pay $150 more for the prestige with the passport which seems like a waste.
I bought a season 2025 recently $140 includes fright fest 2024 and 2025 free parking If you just go to magic mountain for 1 day you pay $50 and park is $40 why not pay $140 for the rest of 24 and all of 2025 with fright fest passes ?
Why don’t they just make a pass that if you pay so much you get access to all parks From both companies. And call it good. With some perks like free parking and discounts and flash passes.
I’m Currently a GA Diamond pass holder. These new prices are crazy. It was less than 150 for my pass last year and included preferred parking and access to all parks in the country. This is double the cost for essentially less
So if I get my pass from my home park, which is Six Flags America because I have diamond, can I still go to Six Flags adventure on the new pass when I renew it
That I unfortunately do not know the answer to. Also remember, Diamond is no longer offered as a pass tier, but I do believe the park you purchase your pass at is the park you must redeem it at
So if I buy a Six Flags season pass with the All Park passport included and I want to have all season dining for both Six Flags and Cedar Parks Can I add on the Cedar fair option to Six Flags season pass? Anyone have any info on this? Seems like the parks kind of forgot to explore that option.
You cannot, and that was the whole conundrum I had. The only way to have drinks & dining for both legacy chains is to have two separate passes, one from each chain.
*Sigh* I knew this was going to happen the minute I heard "Six Flags has merged". I got a six flags diamond pass this year because it was only a nose and a hair more expensive than a day pass ($105 during their memorial day sale). And what did I get? Well first off, I can go down to my home park (New England) WHENEVER I want, for free, parking and water park included, and at only the cost of gas and food. Plus, they give you a cup where you can get UNLIMITED soda, all you want. And the best part? You could travel to any of the other Six Flags parks for all the same benefits. Like I was able to make the trip to Great Adventure in NJ and didn't have to give a cent to Six Flags; only had to pay for the typical expenses of traveling (food/gas/tolls/airbnb, etc.) Next year though? Well, it looks like this new "Prestige" option replaces Diamond and Platinum altogether and is only about $5 more than what I paid this year...except they took away the cup - that has to be bought separately, and it's $215 extra for this "passport" if I want to be able to go back to Great Adventure or any of the other parks...I don't even care about Cedar Fair, they're all too far away for me anyway. So about $250 extra in 2025 for all the benefits I got in 2024. What a fuckin rip off. I've never even visited a Six Flags park until this year *BECAUSE* they gave me this awesome deal. Not anymore; once in a lifetime offer, apparently. Welcome to Capitalism in the 2020's, everyone. Corporations will take away everything that got you buying from them in the first place...and then they'll sell it back to you with less contents for a higher price and call it a "DEAL". They sure love using mergers as an excuse for that. So enjoy your benefits, fellow Diamond holders. Unless you get a promotion at work next year, it's your last summer of cheap thrills.
You mean, they aren't completely giving stuff away. The complaining in this thread is hilarious of all the cheap SF people. Even clueless Selim new all the cheap people were a problem
